5-Year-Old Drew Anatomically Correct Picture of Dad for School; Now Mom is Avoiding the Teacher
A budding 5-year-old artist drew a portrait of her dad and as it turns out, she's not the only one in the family well-equipped for greatness.
'They walk in on you ONCE in the shower… and NEVER FORGET,' South African mom Lauren Gouws captioned an Instagram post. 'The school is gonna have a lot of questions for my poor husband. What can I say? My 5-year-old believes in accuracy.'
And based on Lyana-Rose's drawing of her dad in tight blue jeans, she wasn't exaggerating. Shaun may want to size up. As one commenter put it, 'I think that's a HERNIA.'
At first the Gouws were stumped by what their daughter had added to her illustration.
Lauren Gouws tells that her daughter was happy to clear up the confusion; according to her mom, she explained, quite confidently, that it was, in fact, 'the willy.'
When asked by her parents why she chose to be so anatomically correct, Lyana-Rose simply replied, 'Well, he has one.'
'And she's not wrong!' mom Lauren says with a laugh.
The Gouws proudly displayed Lyana-Rose's sketch on their fridge. 'Why would we hide it? It's priceless,' Lauren says. Still, a few people couldn't help but ask: How did she know what her dad looks like down there?
'There's no such thing as privacy with kids,' Lauren explains. The Gouws are also parents of daughter Lily-Hannah, 2. 'We don't have locks on our bathroom doors. And nudity shouldn't be something that's automatically sexualized. If she were 12 or 13, it would be different. But we're talking about a 5-year-old.'
Meanwhile, the comments on Lauren's post keep rolling in, and they're every bit as priceless as the drawing.
'Congratulations, you married well.'
'The arms spread out wide is the best part … ta-da!'
"My mom told me I drew her once all naked with a whole ton of pubic hair and sagging boobs, and that teachers still framed it on the alongside other children's drawings for Mother's Day.'
'2 inches ... from the floor.'
"My son drew a picture of his dad pooping on the toilet."
One person Lauren hasn't heard from? Lyana-Rose's teacher.
'I've made an effort to sort of avoid her,' Lauren admits. 'I feel like she looks at me differently now. Her smile's just a little … off.'
