'Ignore the luvvies - giving birth took me three days and it was hell'
'I've just had a baby!' blurted out comedian Lily Phillips – not to be confused with OnlyFans' Lily Phillips – during her first comedy set after giving birth. ITV's The Stand Up Sketch Show regular Lily was supposed to be making her usual smutty jokes about her dog's vagina. She was definitely not supposed to be doing a show about babies or motherhood at all. But she couldn't contain herself. It wasn't 'baby bubble' happiness Lily couldn't help but share: there were no birds, flowers and bees bursting out of the comedian's orifices like some Disney goddess. No: her life had changed, and she was in hell. She'd been in hell ever since the excruciating three-day labour began in hospital, where she was dehumanised, infantalised, and ignored until it was almost too late. 'I needed everyone to know what had just happened to me, because it was everything,' Lily tells Metro ahead of her Edinburgh Fringe show Crying, all about the trauma of hatching a baby (it's funny, too). 'I want to get to the bit people don't talk about,' she says, with a surprising sternness that cuts through her sweet exterior, which she admits often catches audiences off guard. (No one expected her to say the word c***, ha!) 'We paint this picture that [welcoming a baby] is magical, beautiful and life-changing, and it is those things. But we're afraid to go really into the horrible side of it, because it looks like we don't love our child and that we regret it,' Lily says. 'Those two things can exist at the same time, and one of them doesn't make the other untrue.' So this is Lily's story. Without all those flowery caveats. Lily was the first of her National Childbirth Trust (NCT) group to give birth, amid pings of girlboss memes: 'You've got this!' and 'You're a goddess!' and 'You're so strong!' 'Women are amazing that they achieve birth, but [this messaging] also gives you the idea that you can curate your own birth,' Lily says. 'Forced positivity can make you then feel like a failure if you don't have this perfect birth experience.' Then there's pain relief. If you don't have an epidural, apparently you're a badass? 'Because of all that f***ing nonsense in my head, I waited three days before I had an epidural. So I was in labor for three f***ing days,' she says. The hospital was reluctant to hand out pain relief, too. 'Where you're supposed to have the baby they don't offer you the thing that would help the well documented pain of childbirth,' Lily points out. 'Then you're like… 'No, I really, really want one.' They're like, 'Okay, well, you have to go up two floors in the hospital while you're naked and howling like a dog.'' Lily kept on telling doctors she thought her baby was stuck, as the pain was so intense, and it kept getting worse. She wasn't dilated and was three centimeters for three days. 'Obviously, I'd never had a baby before, but I was just trying to tell them what I was feeling, and they just kept saying, 'No, it's fine. The heart rate's fine,'' Lily remembers. To sum it up: 'Birth is just hours and hours of unimaginable pain, where every now and then someone comes along and fists you.' Lily's doctor kept talking about a natural birth. She was going to have a glorious, natural birth. Everything would be fine. 'It makes you feel like a child when all this stuff I'd read before was about you being so empowered,' Lily says. 'I just felt the opposite of that. I felt very vulnerable.' Lily asked for a C-section. 'Have you ever been in so much pain that you're begging someone to slice you open?' she jokes, adding: 'As though a C section is a nice thing to do. It's a mad place to be.' But no. 'Naturally,' they repeated. Of course when Lily started to push all hell broke loose, and her baby daughter's heart rate dropped. She was whisked off to theatre and handed a consent form on the way in case they had to do an emergency C-section. 'They don't listen to a word you say most of the time, and then suddenly you have to sign this legal document, and they're like, 'Oh, she's fine to sign this. We'll definitely take this… She's not high, she's not deranged,'' Lily says. They tried a ventouse suction cup – a little like a toilet plunger – which is placed on the baby's head to assist contractions. But that didn't work. Then came forceps, a spoon-like contraption which is also used around the baby's head. According to the Birth Trauma Association, who are holding Birth Trauma Awareness Week this week, 5% of women experience PTSD after birth. That's around 25,000 to 30,000 a year in the UK. Often women say neglect or poor communication from the health professionals looking after them contributed to their trauma. Thankfully at this point Lily was post-epidural, as she also had an episiotomy: when a doctor cuts the area between the vaginal opening and the anus. Lily's partner described the scene as a 'tug of war'. 'They realised the reason she wasn't coming was because she was back to back, which is the wrong position,' says Lily. 'That's why I had so much pain in my back, and the cord was wrapped around her body and her neck, so she was just stuck.' Eventually they did get her out. 'They put the baby on you for this moment that you're supposed to have, but you've just been through a massive trauma, and they're like, 'This is beautiful'. But I just feel broken.' While the world is so conscious about mental health, it seems to Lily this is lost to maternity wards. 'They seem to be going through some kind of checklist of how to give you postnatal depression,' Lily half-jokes. Every time Lily asked how to do something with her baby, she'd get judged: they would laugh at her, or roll their eyes. 'They just seem quite angry that you don't know how to look after a baby, even though we kept saying we haven't done this before,' Lily recalls. 'I just think it'd be weird if you were really good at breastfeeding before you'd ever breastfed anyone. Where are you learning that?' To add another smattering of humiliation to the whole experience, after her episiotomy Lily had to prove she could wee in a cardboard potty before they would let her go. 'They make you bring it to them at the nurses' station,' says Lily, incredulously. 'But you're just like an animal at that point. At the time, you don't think, 'This bit much – why couldn't they just come with me in the toilet? Why can't this be more private?'' 'But you're there just naked, you're leaking out of every orifice, you don't know night and day. You're just, like, inhuman, by this point.' According per the NHS: A ventouse (vacuum cup) is attached to the baby's head by suction. A soft or hard plastic or metal cup is attached by a tube to a suction device. The cup fits firmly on to your baby's head. During a contraction and with the help of your pushing, the obstetrician or midwife gently pulls to help deliver your baby. Forceps are smooth metal instruments that look like large spoons or tongs. They're curved to fit around the baby's head. The forceps are carefully positioned around your baby's head and joined together at the handles. With a contraction and your pushing, an obstetrician gently pulls to help deliver your baby. An episiotomy is when doctors cut between the vagina and the anus during childdbirth, making the opening of the vagina wider, allowing the baby to come through more easily. In England, episiotomies are not done routinely, but in circumstances where the baby is in distress and needs to be born quickly, if there is a need for forceps or vacuum delivery (ventouse), or if there is a risk of a tear to the anus. Lily's story is not a one-off. She realised this when creaking the doors open to friends' experiences years later, as each one slowly started being honest about their births, and comparing notes on their maternity ward experiences. They found disturbing similarities. 'At first I thought it was just me, and maybe I was annoying [the doctors] or I didn't know what to do, and all the other mothers did, and that was bad,' Lily says. At home, Lily's baby wouldn't sleep for more than an hour at a time; she suspects partly due to the traumatic birth. This left her feeling horrific for eight months until the sleep came, and her mood shifted. 'What I found so frustrating in those eight months was this feeling that it should be the most magical time of my life. But actually, I felt like I was in hell, but I couldn't tell anyone I was in hell,' she recalls. While there were celebratory cards all over her house saying kind words like, 'You're so lucky!' and 'What a joy!', Lily was making terrifying post-epistiotomy toilet trips in tears with her baby attached to her chest. 'This doesn't feel lucky?' she remembers thinking. After her birth, fellow NTC mums-to-be asked Lily how her experience was: 'Was it incredible ? Did you feel powerful ?' 'I was writing this pretty bleak message about what had happened, and then I got another message saying, 'No negative birth stories, please!'' says Lily. 'So I was like… Oh, am I not supposed to? What are the rules? And because you'd never done it before, you let the world tell you what they want to hear. You start censoring yourself.' That's why for her show Lily wants to paint a very clear picture of her experience. More Trending Lily worries people might think she regrets having her baby, which she doesn't. Or that it's all bad, which it isn't. But this one time, she'd like to leave the caveats at the door. 'Sometimes I get a little feeling of the audience being uncomfortable with me being that honest,' she says. 'But I think it's something I have to get over as well, because this is the show that I wish I could have seen.' Inside Drake's star-studded Wireless afterparty with A-list celebs and OnlyFans star after fans were left disappointed with his 40-minute festival performance
Drake reportedly threw a star-studded party on Saturday night following his second day performing at Wireless festival, leaving him 'looking tired' for his final set on Sunday. The Canadian star disappointed fans after only appearing on stage for 40 minutes during his final performance at the London festival. And now, The Sun claims that Drake 'probably needed some extra sleep' after partying until 6am at Mr Porter in Mayfair. There were loads of celebs in attendance, including Casey Affleck, Sacha Baron Cohen, and OnlyFans star Lily Phillips. A source told the publication: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage.' It comes after his three-day Wireless Festival residency ended in complete chaos as thousands of fans blasted the festival as 'dangerous' when they were forced to queue for hours and in huge crowds of people. As the rapper appeared on stage 10 minutes early, thousands of British festival goers were left 'disappointed' as they failed to enter London's Finsbury Park for the show. In videos shared on TikTok , festival goers were stood shoulder-to-shoulder pleading with security to let them in because they had tickets for the day. However, it wasn't just general admission that was facing large queues, as VIP guests told MailOnline that they had been forced to wait up to 'three hours' by security before coming to the conclusion they were not going to be let in and headed home. One guest attempting to get in said: 'We arrived at the guest/VIP entrance to the festival at 5:30pm and the queue was massive, but we joined and hoped it would go down quick. We ended up waiting for over two hours and we still weren't in the festival. 'When I asked security what was going on and if we would even get in for Drake coming on stage they said they couldn't give us a time, but said it would be at least another half an hour. 'Everyone was starting to get angry, and people were just pushing past the security. It felt dangerous and so we decided it was better to leave, meaning we didn't even get to see inside the festival. 'It was so disappointing that the festival had invited all these people down and then treated us like that. No staff members were willing to come out and speak to us to help the situation.' Another fan took to X and penned: 'As for whoever was running the crowd management for Wireless this year, they actually need to be fired. 'I've never seen a VIP queue where people are being held outside for 30+minutes for no reason.' A third fan said: 'It looks like a fight broke out at Drake's Wireless Fest, and the police have currently preventing anyone from entering or exiting the fest'. Others took to TikTok to share their experience, with one filming the huge queue and writing: 'Wireless VIP is literally a shambles. People fighting and getting crushed you literally cannot move'. Another on the platform listed the reasons 'why Wireless Sunday was terrible', as they complained about the 'VIP area running out of drinks, fights breaking out and Drake's short set'. Unfortunately it wasn't just the festival goers who failed to gain entry that were left disappointed, as Drake's headline slot was cut by 50minutes. Another fan took to X and penned: 'As for whoever was running the crowd management for Wireless this year, they actually need to be fired' Others took to TikTok to share their experience with one filming the huge queue while another listed the reasons 'why Wireless Sunday was terrible' The rapper arrived on stage 10minutes earlier than his scheduled time and warned the crowd that he would perform until his microphone was cut off - referring to the strict 21:30 curfew. During his set, Drake brought out only three special guests Popcaan, Rema and Vybz Kartel compared to the 12 guests and 90minute run time on the Saturday. Earlier in the day on Sunday, the official setlist had advertised two Drake sets - one at 18:25 and one at 20:55. The first mysteriously disappeared from the schedule during the course of the afternoon, with planned performances from Vybz Kartel and Burna Boy going ahead in their allotted time slots. He appeared agitated, which was a departure from his more upbeat attitude during the other sets he performed over the weekend. Drake started his set by playing an unreleased collaboration with British rapper Central Cee, who did not appear on stage to perform but instead mouthed the words from his position in the front row, which was projected across the big screens. The Toronto rapper and singer appeared apologetic throughout, promising to play some of his biggest hits to win over the crowd. He told the crowd: 'London, I will love you for the rest of my life,' as he raced through a medley of tracks which included Controlla, Find Your Love and One Dance, which were remixed and rushed through. A surprise appearance from Nigerian rapper Rema raised spirits in the crowd, with tracks Calm Down and Fever proving a highlight. But after a brief cameo from Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, who had performed to a huge crowd earlier in the day, there was only time for two more Drake solo songs. For the third night in a row, he climbed onto a crane to wave to the 50,000 attendees as Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You blasted through the speakers as his set came to a close. Fans expressed their disappointment to the BBC as they shuffled to the exits with many complaining that they spent longer queuing to get into the venue than they'd seen Drake perform. Whilst attempting to leave, fans were alerted to scenes of distress at the accessible exit with many heard pleading with security to let them leave after being told they would have to be held in a restrictive space for ten minutes or until other security gave them the green light.

Inside Drake's EPIC Wireless after-party with A-list celebs and OnlyFans star after fans moan final show was cut short
THE last night of Drake's three-show extravaganza ended when he left the stage after 40 minutes — leaving his fans fuming. But I reckon I know why the IDGAF rapper might have needed to get away sharpish from London's Wireless Festival on Sunday — and it wasn't just the energetic performance, complete with twerkers. 11 11 My insiders reveal the Canadian star threw an epic party on Saturday night — which saw him partying at Mr Porter in Mayfair until after 5.30am. A source said: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'There were loads of celebs there like Casey Affleck and Sacha Baron Cohen. Weirdly, Lily Phillips — the X-rated adult performer — was also on the guest list. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'It was a great bash and everyone who came out looked like they'd had a really good time. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage, so it's not surprising that his final show at Wireless was cut short. 'He probably needed some extra sleep.' After his final show at Finsbury Park, North London, Drake took to Instagram to speak directly to his fans and said: 'Thank you London. 'Need some time to process what just happened so I don't have my usual caption . . . just thank you so much for the best three nights of my performance career.' Drake's fans, who had tickets to his final performance on Sunday night, were not too impressed though, and rightly so. His shows on Friday and Saturday ran for 90 minutes, with the latter featuring 13 special guests. On Sunday, the official setlist had advertised two sets for Drake, one at 6.25pm and one at 8.55pm. But the first randomly disappeared from the schedule, with Drake coming on after Burna Boy had finished. His first track was an unreleased collaboration with Central Cee, who was seen mouthing the words from the front row, which was projected on to big screens. One concert-goer told me Drake then raced through hits, with a surprise appearance from Nigerian rapper Rema and Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel. There was then only time for a few more tracks, with Drake finishing to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You for a third night in a row. I'm a big fan, but I can understand why ticket holders for the final night felt short-changed. I'd have been raging. Chris plane ad prank takes off 11 CHRIS STARK proved why he's one of the funniest blokes on the radio when he gave racegoers a laugh at Newmarket. The Capital Breakfast host played a DJ set on Ladies Day and called up Zoe Lister – the voice of Jet2 holidays ads – to see if she'd appear when he played Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand, which blasts out of speakers on board every Jet2 flight. Chris said: 'So I'm DJ-ing at Newmarket and why don't you come along and maybe we can bring you out and do it live?' She then stunned the crowd by picking up the mic and doing the spiel we hear on the adverts. Tim & Co: We are back THE CHARLATANS are back with their 14th studio album, We Are Love. The 11-track record, out on October 31, is the first album from the group since 2017's Different Days. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire and their own Big Mushroom space in Cheshire. Singer Tim Burgess said the record was inspired by the concepts of hauntology and psychogeography – which to us normal people is how geographical environments influence human emotions. Tim added: 'The whole idea of hauntology and psychogeography is represented by us going back to Rockfield, where so much history has happened for The Charlatans. 'That was important as a way of honouring every member who's played in the band. 'So we're honouring ourselves, our past, feeling that energy and reincarnating it, doing something fresh, brand new.' The group have also announced a six-date UK tour, kicking off at the O2 Academy in Leeds on December 6. They will also play Stoke, Bath, London, Manchester and Glasgow. Welcome back, lads. Dan has gotta tie shorts DANIEL BEDINGFIELD had to take inspiration from his 2002 hit Gotta Get Through This after having a mare at Pub In The Park. He was performing at the event in Reigate, Surrey, when his shorts fell down mid song. Daniel, brother of Natasha, was forced to run off stage and get them sorted. Laughing about it, he said: 'Little known fact . . . if your pants are falling down, you can't do a gig.' After getting himself back on track, Daniel went on to introduce his next song, warning the children in the audience he was about to say some rude words. The singer joked: 'OK, here we go. Kids, you are going to learn a lot of swear words in this song.' At least the shorts stayed up for that one, Dan. J-Lo's sparkle returns JENNIFER LOPEZ is back on top form after her split from Ben Affleck. She turned up the heat by performing in a crystal-embellished bodysuit during her Up All Night Tour, currently in Spain. This is J-Lo's first tour since 2019's It's My Party, but she's not lost her ability to put on a killer show as she smashed through songs including Get Right, Love Don't Cost A Thing and Let's Get Loud. She also revealed her new track Wreckage Of You, a ballad she wrote not long after her split from Ben. The song has not yet been released but the lyrics are cutting: 'It was perfect when you made me believe. 'Really got only greater for me. And it made me stronger, stronger, bulletproof. 'Now watch me climb out of the wreckage of you.' Stevie's salute 11 STEVIE WONDER celebrated a victorious set at American Express Presents BST Hyde Park by throwing an after-party for his closest family and friends. My mole revealed the Signed, Sealed, Delivered singer hosted a bash at the Great Lion Bar backstage and gave an emotional speech. They explained: 'Stevie was one of the few big stars to throw a party after performing and it was really special. 'His two daughters, Aisha and Zaiah, and two sons, Kailand and Mandla, were there too and Stevie got up on the mic to give a speech. 'He thanked them for all the support. It was really emotional.' The stars were out in force for his set, with JB Gill telling me he once bumped into him and told him all about JLS. He told me backstage: 'I've actually met him in an airport lounge at Heathrow Airport. 'He was so nice. We were on our way to LA and I walked into the lounge with the boys, and Stevie was sitting in the lounge, so we had to say hello. 'He's a music purist so he had an inkling of who JLS are and our music. 'It's funny, a lot of people who are into music in the States, no matter how big they are, know who's who and what's what. 'I remember meeting Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.' JB is also lobbying to get a set at the event in the coming years, adding: 'We're still working on JLS headlining BST Hyde Park. 'It's going to happen, watch this space.' All the lovers came out for Stevie too on Saturday, with AJ Odudu snogging her fiancé Peter Gibson during his set, while Jade was spotted with her boyfriend Jordan Stephens. Dua Lipa and Callum Turner were also spied locking lips during Neil Young's set over the weekend, with my mole saying: 'They were late but had a massive snog before taking their places in the VIP suites. 'They are clearly madly in love.' George: Worricka a top boy BOY GEORGE has teamed up with rising star Worricka for a track called Mesmerised. The record out on July 24, is a funky electronic single mixed with classic vocals from the Culture Club frontman. Boy George said: 'I love Worricka's jazzy tones and we have worked on a few things together. 'I don't know why we have never written together, but we should. 'He sounds great doing reggae and he brings a familiar flavour with his voice but he still sounds like himself. 'I hear a bit of Jessye Norman and that's serious praise.' Worricka added: 'It's about the first moments of infatuation when you meet someone on the dance floor in a club. 'We shared the stage for the first time many years ago at The Jazz Cafe in London when George asked me to join him to open a charity show. 'Now we share the stage once again with Mesmerised.' Kaisers reigning in Spain KAISER CHIEFS pulled in the biggest British crowd at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid over the weekend. One of my mates, who was down at the front, told me Spanish fans started legging it after mosh pits started springing up near the stage. 'It was chaotic but amazing,' they said. 'The locals didn't seem used to having Brits going absolutely bananas, and left the mosh pits well alone.' Frontman Ricky Wilson tried his best with the lingo but said he was struggling. He joked with fans and said he wished he had 'paid more attention to my Spanish lessons in school', before adding with a laugh, 'I hate myself.' It then got even funnier when he said: 'Nous sommes Kaiser Chiefs,' before realising that was French for 'We are Kaiser Chiefs,' not Spanish. I'll be getting you a Duolingo subscription for Christmas, Ricky. News Just-in 11 JUSTIN Bieber is raising a glass of plonk to himself and he's got good reason to. The singer, who's just dropped surprise album Swag, will be back in the Official Charts this week. Justin celebrated its release on a yacht in the Med with his supermodel missus Hailey. Daisies, a song from the 21-track record, is on course to hit No5 on Friday. If he holds the position, the song will become Justin's 28th Top 10 hit. I can imagine there will be more corks popping come Friday.

Lily Phillips Shares Plans to Sleep With Widows Before Sex With 1,113 Men in 12 Hours
Adult content creator Lily Phillips weighed in on her future plans ahead of sleeping with 1,113 men in 12 hours. 'There's no goals for numbers, but I mean, there's lots of different ideas I always have,' Phillips, 23, exclusively told Us Weekly. 'I mean, it doesn't really tend to be, like, numbers focused much because I think that's getting a little bit boring now.' One of her ideas? Having sex with widowed men. 'Maybe sleeping with widows, they don't get a lot of sex anymore,' she told Us. Phillips claimed on Monday, June 30, that she broke her current feat — and the world-record — by having sex with 1,113 men in 12 hours. (Fellow creator Bonnie Blue claimed in January that she slept with 1,057 men in 12 hours, while Annie Knight alleged that she held an event with 583 men in six hours, a pace that was on track to beat Blue.) Lily Phillips Claims to Break World Record of Having Sex With 1113 Men in 12 Hours 'For those of you who have followed me for quite some time now will understand that I've been wanting to do a certain world-record,' Phillips said in an Instagram video. 'Now, I'm very happy to announce that yesterday I did just that. I did 1,113 men in 12 hours.' Phillips noted that she would need 'a little bit of time' to edit and upload the content, which would be shared on her Fansly. 'Yesterday I was with 1,113 men in just 12 hours,' Phillips said in a separate Instagram video on Monday. 'And today, I'm feeling surprisingly good. I mean, I do feel achy but technically I did do physical exercise for 12 hours straight so that kind of makes sense.' In another clip, Phillips offered fans behind-the-scenes details of her event. OnlyFans' Influencer Lily Phillips Is 'Quite Excited' to Sleep With 1,000 Men in 24 Hours 'Some of you will be surprised to find out that yes, I actually took no showers in between men. Not even a baby wipe shower,' Phillips said via Instagram. 'It was honestly a conveyor belt.' Phillips made her first attempt at the 'competitive sex' trend in December 2024, ultimately sleeping with 100 men in one day and becoming emotional after the experience. 'It's not for the weak. If I'm honest, it was hard,' Phillips said in her YouTube documentary at the time. 'I don't know if I'd recommend it. Just one in and one out, it feels intense.' She continued, 'I'd have to stop them early and you'd have to stand on business [and say,] 'I'm so sorry you got to go' and the awkward interaction of you feeling pressure to [satisfy them]. Or if you hadn't spent enough time with them, feeling like you didn't give them a good time because they only got two minutes.' Lily Phillips also said that she was hoping to get the video up on her Fansly account by later 'this week' for her subscribers. Phillips and Blue were forced to move to Fansly after OnlyFans decided to ban them from sharing 'extreme challenge content.' OnlyFans said their content was against the platform's rules. In a second video on Instagram, Phillips told her 1.2 million followers that she was feeling 'surprisingly good' in the aftermath of the sexual acts.
