Suspected robbers caught
Six suspects allegedly involved in a series of robberies in Ntoane and Moteti villages under the Dennilton policing area were nabbed last Thursday, and an unlicensed firearm as well as stolen properties were seized. According to the Limpopo Provincial Police, the recent robberies were committed on August 14. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, provincial police spokesperson, said suspects driving in a Toyota GD6 Club Cab allegedly robbed a shop of cash and cellphones in Ntoane Village. The crime prevention members, detectives and Sekhukhune District Tracking and Investigations Team netted the suspects. 'The described vehicle was spotted in Dennilton, and a chase ensued. Police intercepted the vehicle, and three male suspects were arrested. They were found in possession of a pellet gun. Police received another report of a robbery in Moteti Village. They spotted a suspicious white BMW driving at high speed, managed to stop and search it, and three other suspects were arrested. They were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm,' explained Ledwaba. Ledwaba stated that the six suspects were linked to three business robberies that occurred in June and July. He further indicated that they were also linked to a recent business robbery and house robbery that took place on August 14. 'One suspect was charged with contravention of the Immigration Act,' added Ledwaba. The suspects are expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate's Court today (Monday).

Manhunt underway after armed robbery
A manhunt for four unknown suspects has been launched following a robbery at a fuel station, where a customer's vehicle was also hijacked during the theft in Vleeisboom Village on Monday. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the armed men stormed into the fuel station's office wearing balaclavas and filling station uniforms. The robbers overpowered the staff, damaged the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money, as well as a cellphone. He added that the men also robbed a customer and hijacked his car while he was refuelling. The men then used the car as a getaway vehicle. 'The vehicle was later found abandoned about 1km from the crime scene,' explained Ledwaba. The police urge members of the public with information that can assist in catching the men to contact the detective branch commander, Captain Marumo Lifi Ramushu, on 082 414 3244, or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Immigrant shop owners nabbed for unlicensed firearms
Botamo Lolamo (42) was granted R2 000 bail yesterday (Wednesday) by the Nebo Magistrate's Court following his arrest on Tuesday. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the Sekhukhune District Tracking Team arrested the suspect during an intelligence-driven operation. Ledwaba indicated that following up on information, the team nabbed Lolamo at his tuck shop. He is expected to reappear before the court on August 6 after a postponement for further investigations. • Another 57-year-old foreign national shop owner was apprehended within the same policing area of Hlogotlou last Friday for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition following a tip-off. Ledwaba said the firearm was discovered at his girlfriend's residence in Hlalanikahle Village. He was scheduled to appear before the Nebo Magistrate's Court on June 23.
