Manhunt underway after armed robbery
A manhunt for four unknown suspects has been launched following a robbery at a fuel station, where a customer's vehicle was also hijacked during the theft in Vleeisboom Village on Monday. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the armed men stormed into the fuel station's office wearing balaclavas and filling station uniforms. The robbers overpowered the staff, damaged the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money, as well as a cellphone. He added that the men also robbed a customer and hijacked his car while he was refuelling. The men then used the car as a getaway vehicle. 'The vehicle was later found abandoned about 1km from the crime scene,' explained Ledwaba. The police urge members of the public with information that can assist in catching the men to contact the detective branch commander, Captain Marumo Lifi Ramushu, on 082 414 3244, or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
