90s pop icons Elite return to stage with "Elite Live '25" this September

25 Jun - After much speculations, Malaysia's pop group Elite announced that they will be holding their first ever concert "Elite Live '25" this coming September. The group of five, consisting of Linda Rafar, Abby Abadi, Sasha Saidin, Watie Sadali and Azza Zawari, will be collaborating with ICON Entertainment for their concert that will be held at Plenary Hall Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 20 September. It is noted that ICON was the same company that previously organised the highly successful GenKRU concert series back in May. ICON's Iman Tang stated that the decision to organise the "Elite Live '25" concert was made following the successful reunion Elite had when they performed at KRU's GenKRU concert. Meanwhile, Linda, who represents the group, stated, "To be honest, we were nervous about many things because as everyone knows, Elite hasn't done any stage performances on a large scale for a long time. So, when we received the offer from ICON Entertainment, we had mixed feelings." "However, we decided to agree and finally ELITE LIVE '25 will come true. This decision takes into account that the works created for Elite are still popular and still relevant," she added. In ICON's usual fashion, the upcoming concert will have its dress code and this time, the theme will be "catwalk". This means that fans of the group are required to attend the concert in their best most stylish outfit. Tickets, which ranges from RM 1088 to RM 268, can be obtained via starting Thursday, 26 June at 2pm. 'Yup, you heard it right' - Malaysian very own spice girls Elite are back together again for a solo concert

The Malaysian all-group Elite, our very own spice girls, who ruled the roost in the South-East Asia region in the 90s, are all back to entertain their fans. The group, consisting of Linda Rafar, Sasha Saidin, Watie Sadali, Abby Abadi and Azza, will present the "ELITE LIVE 25 - 'Tamparan'" to fans at the Plenary Hall in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Sept 20. Formed in 1995, Elite was the first act signed under KRU Records. They won rave reviews with their albums including "Catwalk, Tamparan, Idola, Selamat Tinggal Teman, G.I.G. and Merbahaya", had many followers here and including fans in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. Organised by Icon Entertainment, the ELITE LIVE '25 concert will feature all five original members taking centre stage at the KL venue . 'Organising ELITE LIVE '25 at the Plenary Hall of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Sept 20 is a project that has gone through several phases of research, planning and implementation, all of which were not done carelessly. 'As an organiser, Icon Entertainment is aware that we ourselves have organised many concerts. The local and Nusantara entertainment industry is also lively with the many concerts among my other organising friends and this shows how healthy our industry is. 'So organising ELITE LIVE '25 is not a catch-up organisation because concerts are currently hyped but seeing how relevant this girl band is to hold a large-scale concert that matches their existence. 'Organising ELITE LIVE '25 will be an important history not only for this group but for the music industry in general because the great works created by them in the 90s, for example, are still popular,' said Iman Tang, the founder of Icon Entertainment. Meanwhile Linda, said the decision to hold a solo concert came after the warm reception they received during the GenKRU concert at Axiata Arena in May, where the group made a surprise appearance during one of the four-day shows. 'Actually, we were a bit nervous because, as you all know, it's been quite a while since we performed live together, especially when playing at a large-scale concert. When we received the offer from Icon Entertainment, we had mixed feelings at first but eventually agreed to it. Now, we just want to give it a real go and make all our fans go back to our heyday. 'This decision takes into account that the works created for Elite are still popular, still relevant, and we want to party with our old and new fans. Surely, we can promise all it will be a very interesting night and yes, exciting time for all,' Linda said. Tickets for ELITE LIVE '25: GIG (RM1088 - with Meet & Greet and refreshment), MANISNYA SENYUMANMU (RM588), CATWALK (RM268), TAMPARAN WANITA (RM268). Elite opens official Instagram account amid rise in popularity

19 Jun - After receiving much love from fans following their reunion at KRU's GenKRU concert, '90's female pop group Elite recently announced that they have officially opened a new Instagram account. Member Linda Rafar, who shared the good news, said that the account @eliteofficialmy is open so that they can share their activities with the fans, especially since they have received lots of invitations following their performance at the concert. "We used to have an Instagram account in the past. But since then, everybody became busy with their own careers that the account became no longer active," she said. "But after we got involved in the GenKRU concert, suddenly we received a lot of attention. We didn't expect so many people want to know about Elite's activities." When asked if this means that Elite will one day hold their own concert, the singer stated that they will take whatever opportunity that comes their way. "We do receive lots of offers to hold a concert. But even before accepting them, we have to do a lot of preparations and not just in terms of singing. We are all in our 40s now. We have to start exercising and taking vocal lessons. Even KRU started doing fitness six months prior to their concert," she said. It was back in May that Linda was reunited with the rest of the Elite members; Abby Abadi, Sasha Saidin, Watie Sadali, and Azza Zawari to perform the song, "Di Pintu Syurga" with KRU. The group made their debut in 1995 and is known for hits like "Tamparan Wanita", "Manisnya Senyumanmu" and "Trauma". (Photo Source: Elite IG, Sasha Saidin IG)
