Lindsay Lohan Stages a ‘Spectacular' Comeback as an ELLE Cover Star for Summer 2025
Something is happening at ELLE HQ in New York, and we're 100% here for it. Over recent months, the magazine had become somewhat of a bore, and not even covers starring the likes of Daisy Edgar-Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, and Kylie Jenner had managed to successfully stimulate our interest here at theFashionSpot. Last month, however, Nina Garcia (who has served as editor-in-chief since 2017) served up Addison Rae and won us over completely. It's a repeat performance this month, as none other than Lindsay Lohan graces the cover of ELLE for Summer 2025. Fresh from the cover of Vogue Czechoslovakia, the American actress (who last covered ELLE in 2007) poses for Chris Colls and is styled by ELLE fashion director Alex White. In the commanding black and white cover image, Lohan bundles up in a faux fur coat from Dolce & Gabbana (worn with a pair of Saint Laurent slingbacks). 'I like it and I'm happy for her!' immediately exclaimed DK92 upon checking out the cover. 'I'll always have time for Lindsay Lohan. This comeback better be building up to something big,' chimed in forum member Squizree. 'I've said this before by my GOD the camera loves Lindsay,' expressed Lucien112. Sharing the same level of enthusiasm was vogue28. 'Absolutely LOVE this! Lindsay looks phenomenal, genuinely cannot believe how good she looks. Everyone involved (from Chris Colls to Alex White styling) did a truly spectacular job here!' 'Love her and love the results…' echoed Xone. 'Wow, she looks incredible. I love a good triumphant comeback,' enthused Salvatore. See more of Lindsay Lohan from the ELLE Summer 2025 cover shoot and join the conversation, here. Lindsay Lohan opens up about leaving Hollywood stress behind by moving to Dubai
Lindsay Lohan, after enduring intense scrutiny in Hollywood, relocated to Dubai in 2014 and found peace as a wife and mother. Featured in Elle's Summer Issue, she discusses prioritizing family, setting boundaries, and managing her public image through social media. Lohan also shares her skincare routine, emphasizing healthy habits and self-care for maintaining her youthful glow. After nearly three decades in the spotlight, Lindsay Lohan left the hectic pace of Hollywood behind, relocating from Los Angeles to Dubai in 2014. Since then, the "Mean Girls" star, now 38, has embraced life as a wife and mother—and found a newfound sense of peace. Lohan, featured on the cover of Elle's 2025 Summer Issue, opened up about her life abroad and the personal and professional growth she's experienced since relocating. Lohan shared that life in Los Angeles can be stressful, even during simple moments like taking her son to the park, where she constantly worries about being watched or photographed. In contrast, she finds New York much more peaceful and private, with people minding their own business and a different, more relaxed energy. She prefers spending her downtime in New York over Los Angeles. Lohan shares her 1-year-old son, Luai, with husband Bader Shammas. Lohan appreciates the spaciousness of Los Angeles, but she finds that Dubai offers all the benefits she values—privacy, peace, and plenty of space—without the usual worries. In Dubai, she feels safe and able to enjoy a sense of calm that eludes her in other cities. Starting her career at just three years old, Lohan rose to fame with the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap, quickly thrust into the intense spotlight of Hollywood. Constant public scrutiny eventually took its toll, leading the Freaky Friday star to leave it all behind and relocate to Dubai in 2014. Lindsay Lohan has expressed frustration that much of her early work was overshadowed by paparazzi attention and media scrutiny, a phase she wishes hadn't affected her career. Lindsay Lohan explained that the intense media focus on her personal life often overshadowed her professional work, which made her want to step away and disappear, knowing that without a scandal, the spotlight wouldn't stay on her career alone. In 2022, Lindsay Lohan discussed how social media has empowered her to take control of her own story—a stark contrast to her early career days when paparazzi shaped public perception without her input. She expressed admiration for today's artists who can define their own identities online, admitting she's a bit envious since she didn't have that opportunity. Aware of the fast-paced digital world, she carefully vets everything before posting, often consulting others to ensure her message is just right. Lohan emphasized the importance of taking public opinions with a grain of salt and staying true to oneself. She advised slowing down amid the fast pace of today's world, reminding that people often move too quickly and that it's important to take a moment to pause and relax. After relocating to Dubai, Lohan discovered the importance of setting boundaries by being selective about her work. Since returning to films, including starring with Jamie Lee Curtis in Freakier Friday, she's found that putting herself first greatly improves her well-being. Lohan shared that both she and Jamie Lee Curtis value family deeply, and Jamie has taught her the importance of prioritizing self-care—because without taking care of yourself first, it's hard to support others. L ohan shared that she loves having a routine and sticking to schedules. Her mornings typically include journaling, sipping green tea, breakfast with her son, and a Pilates session she makes sure to fit in. Despite her busy days, family remains her top priority—her husband, son, and herself. She emphasized the importance of balance and routine, especially as a parent, explaining that she adapts her life around her child's schedule. However, Lohan is no stranger to criticism, as fame often brings intense scrutiny, particularly regarding her appearance. In the Elle interview, Lohan dismissed rumors about having a facelift and revealed the real secrets behind her glowing skin. She shared that she follows a dedicated skincare routine and a healthy diet, including a daily juice made of carrot, ginger, lemon, olive oil, and apple. She also drinks plenty of green tea and water and loves adding pickled beets to almost everything. Lohan is currently experimenting with new serums to maintain her skin's glow. Lohan also shared her skincare habits, including splashing ice-cold water on her face each morning, drinking lemon juice, and adding chia seeds to her water. She uses eye patches daily and is interested in laser treatments. After trying Morpheus8 microneedling once, she realized her skin had become too sensitive, especially after having her son. This prompted her to overhaul her routine and diet, including allergy tests that helped her eliminate triggers, leading to noticeable improvements in her skin. There's a different kind of energy in New York. I'd rather have downtime in New York than I would in L.A.' 'But the nice thing about L.A. is, I like space [and you get that here]. Lindsay Lohan has adopted a 'more condensed' sense of style nowadays
Lindsay Lohan has adopted a "more condensed" sense of style. The 38-year-old actress used to feel the pressure to keep things "changing" as a teen star in Hollywood during the early 2000s but has now decided to be "more specific" about the kind of clothes she actually "needs" to wear on a daily basis. She told UsWeekly: "I think it's become more condensed. 'I would say I'm more specific about what I need in my everyday life. I always need good pairs of leggings or jeans that I love, Whereas I used to think you need to have everything changing so fast in fashion." The 'Mean Girls' star is mother to 22-month-old Luai with her husband Bader Shammas and explained that she has become "more modest" with her outfits for her public appearances since she welcomed her son and is a little bit shocked at some of her choices back in the day. She said: "I've become a bit more modest, even on red carpets. I just like to be a little bit more buttoned up than I used to be. "When I see [those low-rise jeans] now, I'm like, 'whoa, those are actually borderline too low!" The 'Freakier Friday' actress recently admitted that she is "not as comfortable" with cetain fashion choices, but it all depends on what situation she is in at any given time. She told ELLE: ""I've always been comfort-focused. If I'm not comfortable in it, I'm not going to put it on. That's always been a big thing for me. "With time, maybe I've become a bit more modest. I'm not as comfortable risking certain things. But it depends. If it's a nice dinner date with my husband, I want to feel sexy and look nice. And then my daywear is more casual, usually. But when I'm in New York, I like to dress because I'm in New York."
