Wendy's set to make a major change to iconic menu item
It might be known for its square hamburgers, fries and chili but there's another part of the Wendy's menu that has kept fans flocking through the door for decades. The American fast food chain, which has been in existence since 1969, has also found fame for the Frosty - a frozen dairy dessert which was launched as part of the original menu. But while it remains as popular as ever, it's undergone a radical change (Picture: Getty Images) Currently, the Frosty is available in chocolate or vanilla flavour, with the dessert being known for being thick enough to eat with a spoon but smooth enough to drink through a straw. However those seeking something a little different to the usual Frosty flavours have had their patience rewarded with the arrival of two new variations - Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions (Picture:for Wendy's) Frosty Swirls feature new sauces allowing you to customise your Frosty - with strawberry, caramel and brownie batter to choose from. These launched in the US last month but are now being joined by Frosty Fucions, special 'mix-ins' which allow you to customise your sweet treat even more (Picture: The Wendy's Company) Options include Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion - featuring Pop-tart pieces - Oreo Brownie Frosty Fusion with chunks of Oreo cookie, and Caramel Crunch, allowing you to blend your Frosty with toffee pieces. A new dessert option has arrived at Wendy's. After debuting Frosty Swirls on April 15, Frosty Fusions will debut nationwide on May 12, according to the fast food chain. Wendy's initially announced both items in March 2025 at its Investor Day event. 'Frosty is one of the most iconic items on Wendy's menu and we know that consumers are increasingly seeking new flavors and variety,' said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy's Company, in a statement obtained by USA TODAY in March. 'Our new Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions will give our fans even more ways to enjoy this classic treat.' Frosty Swirls will debut exclusively in the Wendy's app beginning April 11 and will be available in restaurants nationwide starting April 15, according to the company. Wendy's confirmed to USA TODAY Thursday that the final day to get a Thin Mints Frosty is Monday, April 14, both in restaurants and in the Wendy's app. The Girl Scout Cookie-themed dessert debuted on Wendy's menus on Feb. 21, the same day Girl Scout Cookies were made available to be purchased. According to Wendy's, the dessert combines a classic chocolate or vanilla Frosty swirled and topped with a rich and minty cookie crumble sauce inspired by the popular Girl Scout cookie flavor.
