Featuring the singles "Let Your Soul Shine" and "I Don't Want Money," the album marks Ross's 100th original song release. Spanning 21 tracks of jazz-fueled storytelling, the award-winning vocalist, pianist, composer, and producer captures love, loss, discovery, and creative drive. From intimate ballads to Latin jazz rhythms, the collection blends personal reflection with dynamic musical range. "I still write everything in notebooks," Ross shares. "Some songs started with a bass line, some with a lyric, some from something I overheard in a café. This album is 21 moments from those pages." The album even includes two songs she wrote as a teenager, finally brought to life. "Let Your Soul Shine" was sparked by a simple sign at a market stall. "I walked home, sat at the piano, and the song poured out in ten minutes." "Pirates in Paris," a romantic anthem of freedom, celebrates Ross's personal escape: "Paris has always been my place to just be me." "I Don't Want Money" reflects the artist's struggle to create in a world dominated by cost: "This song is for every creative who just wants to do what they love." Another standout, "Voices Unheard," pays tribute to overlooked figures in history, name-checking Melba Liston, James Baldwin, Countee Cullen, Mary Lou Williams, and Ida B. Wells. "China Told Me: The Live Session," inspired by China Moses, was rehearsed and recorded in one day at Premises Studios with an all-female, all-empowered team, including teen ensemble J Steps, and rising vocalist Mary Sho. Ross recorded the album with a stellar lineup: Gibbi Bettini (guitar), Derek Daley (bass), Marley Drummond (drums), Loren Hignell (woodwinds), Simon Todd (percussion), and Dave Boa (trumpet), with guest spots by Charlotte Keeffe, Laura Impallomeni, Diana Torti, and more. The album was produced across several studios, balancing the spirit of live jazz with polished production. The closing track, "100 Songs," reflects on Ross's journey and legacy: "What would my parents say if they were here?" It's a tender finale to a milestone moment. Fiona Ross celebrates the album with a UK/Europe tour, including June 4 at London's Soul Mama. Meta Restores Emphasis on Links in Threads, Countering Elon Musk's Approach - Jordan News
Meta Restores Emphasis on Links in Threads, Countering Elon Musk's Approach Meta has announced a series of updates to its Threads app aimed at elevating the role of links and improving user experience — a strategy that stands in stark contrast to Elon Musk's X platform, where posts containing external links have seen a significant drop in visibility and engagement, including retweets and likes. اضافة اعلان Musk had previously justified this by explaining that the platform's algorithm deprioritizes posts with links in an effort to keep users on the platform longer, rather than directing them to external sites. Meta, seeing an opportunity, has chosen to embrace a different approach on Threads, aiming to attract users — especially content creators — who want to promote their websites and projects. In a statement released this week, Threads announced that users can now add up to five links in their account bios, compared to just one on X. This change allows users to share multiple links to their personal websites, online stores, or newsletters without the need for third-party services like LinkTree. Advanced Link Performance Analytics Meta also unveiled a new tool for analyzing link performance on Threads, giving users the ability to track the number of clicks each link receives — whether in posts or in their bio section. These insights represent a key step for content creators looking to measure the impact of their content and gauge follower engagement. Threads will display stats related to click-through rates and link reach both in posts and on user profiles. These updates are part of a broader toolkit Meta is developing to support content creators, including weekly performance metrics like view counts, comments, and engagement rates, as well as personalized recommendations to improve content and boost reach. In earlier comments, Instagram head Adam Mosseri noted that Threads had not previously downgraded posts containing links, but neither did it prioritize them. The new policy marks a fundamental shift toward highlighting content with external links. With these moves, Meta is aiming to position Threads as a go-to platform for creators amid growing competition from X, Bluesky, and others. The company is betting that prioritizing links — along with powerful analytics tools — will attract more users and empower them to promote their work and projects more effectively.
