Teenager dies following Co Kerry crash
A teenager, who was seriously injured in a road crash in Co Kerry at the weekend, has died in hospital.
The crash occurred on Saturday afternoon on the L1029 road at Deerpark, Lixnaw.
The driver, who was aged in his late teens and travelling alone, was airlifted to Cork University Hospital, where he died this morning.
No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have dash-cam footage and who were travelling in the area on 2 August between 5.15pm and 5.45pm, to contact Listowel Garda Station on 068 50820, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
A total of 98 people have died on Irish roads so far this year.
