Little Kitty, Big City (PS5) Review: An Adorable Diversion

I'm always a sucker for a cat video game. Like Catlateral Damage before it, Little Kitty, Big City allows players to live out their fantasy of controlling a cat, jumping around, knocking things off shelves, and so forth. However, this is a more structured adventure as there's an actual plot rather than just encouraging you to cause kitty mayhem. You play as a cute cat that accidentally falls off the balcony of his apartment building and then finds himself lost in the city with not enough energy to get back up there. This leads to the core structure of the game: explore around, find fish to eat so you regain energy, and finish some missions because you're a helpful little guy. It's a simple 3D open-world adventure with plenty of platforming as you leap and climb your way around the town. While there's nothing extraordinary about the gameplay, Little Kitty, Big City is extremely charming. From how the cat moves to the well-written dialogue — I love the pompous bodega cat you meet early on — this always feels like a truly authored experience. Even the fast travel system using sewer manholes is more charmingly introduced than it has any reason to be. You'll have a smile on your face the entire time you play, so what more could you ask for? While I had a good time, Little Kitty, Big City is a game that's easy to nitpick. The camera can be unwieldy at times, especially around corners and tight areas. The controls and physics are sometimes off, meaning you might need to redo a section or two after a mistimed jump. Yet, it never brings the vibe down. I was always charmed by the experience, and any minor inconvenience was just that — minor. While it's ultimately a pretty basic adventure game, it's one with a ton of charm that doesn't overstay its welcome. It only takes a few hours to beat the game and get the adorable cat back to his home. That's a good thing, not a complaint, as we wouldn't want the little furball to be lost on the street for weeks. Little Kitty, Big City delivers exactly what you want from it. You get to play as a cute little cat, cause some mischief, collect some fish, and eventually find yourself back home. It's a charming misadventure starring a cute feline and one that isn't extended without good reason. If you're looking for a fun afternoon of gaming, then this fits the bill nicely. You're an adorable cat Cute dialogue Doesn't overstay its welcome Camera can be erratic Controls can sometimes be janky 8 Disclosure: The publisher provided a PlayStation 5 copy for our Little Kitty, Big City (PS5) review. The best Sci-Fi strategy game you've never played and 7 others leave Xbox Game Pass in May 2025

A brilliant strategy title, a cosy cat exploration game and more leave Xbox Game Pass this month in a difficult loss for the service. More great games are leaving Xbox Game Pass, so you might want to rush to get them completed before they're stripped from the service. Xbox Game Pass has a lot of great goodies to offer in the coming month, as it rides an incredible high. After the Xbox Game Pass return of GTA 5 and arrival of critical darlings Blue Prince and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the service has proved itself with games of incredibly high quality. ‌ It's not all sunshine and rainbows for subscribers, though, as games seem to keep hemorrhaging from the service. A mass Yakuza Xbox Game Pass exodus has led the home of the Like A Dragon franchise to be completely gutted of every title it had to its name. Major losses have been covered over by some big wins for the service, and depending on the games you like, it's either the best deal in the industry, or worth ignoring entirely. ‌ The latter team might be feeling vindicated now, though, as a new collection of games is set to leave the service shortly, and some of the titles are going to leave a serious hole in your backlog. Here's what you need to know about the new Xbox Game Pass games leaving. Xbox Game Pass games leaving in May 2025 The Xbox Game Pass games leaving in May 2025 have been revealed by the 'leaving soon' tab on the Xbox Game Pass library, and sadly, some genuinely great games will be departing the service shortly. Here's what you need to know about the Xbox Game Pass games leaving on Thursday, May 15: Little Kitty, Big City (console, cloud, PC) Planet of Lana (console, cloud, PC) Hauntii (console, cloud, PC) Dune: Spice Wars (Xbox Series X |S, cloud, PC) Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (console, cloud) The Big Con (console, cloud, PC) Jurassic World Evolution 2 (console, cloud, PC) Chants of Sennaar (console, cloud) It's a shame to be saying farewell to these titles, especially as Little Kitty, Big City served as the perfect cosy tonic to the post-apocalypse that many players didn't expect to find in the gorgeous Stray. Plus, with Dune: Spice Wars, your chances to harvest the most important riches in the galaxy are wearing out before the arrival of Dune: Awakening. Get the games finished off while you still can, or make the most of the 20% discount you'll get on buying the games via the service.
