Crews rescue kitten from storm drain in Livermore
(KRON) — A tiny kitten was rescued from a storm drain on Tuesday in Livermore, city officials posted on social media. The animal was found trapped in a storm drain near Preston Avenue. Livermore Public Works crews, assisted by the Livermore Police Department, executed this 'tricky rescue,' officials said. 'After carefully removing the storm drain cover, Officer Holmes lowered a humane trap and used a net to gently guide the kitten to safety,' the city wrote. It is unknown how long the kitten was stuck in the storm drain. Photos of the rescue were posted on the City of Livermore's social media page (see below). Stolen Glock, weed found in probationer's car: Livermore PD
(KRON) – A Sacramento man is facing drug and weapon charges after a stolen gun and marijuana were found in his car, according to the Livermore Police Department. Patrol officers said they noticed a man in the front seat of a car around 1 a.m. on Friday. According to Livermore PD, there was a visible Glock 10mm handgun tucked into the rear pocket of the front passenger seat. Police searched the vehicle and said officers found more than an ounce of marijuana and a digital scale. It was also discovered that the Glock was reported stolen out of Vallejo last year. Over 200 grams of meth found after Fairfield retail theft: PD The driver was identified as a 38-year-old probationer. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple drug and firearm-related charges, including possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public and carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. DMT lab uncovered at Livermore residence, police say
(KRON) — Three Livermore residents were arrested after police discovered a DMT drug lab in their garage, authorities announced Thursday. In March, the Livermore Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit was investigating possible drug sales occurring at a home in the 700 block of Wagoner Drive. A search warrant for the residence was granted after continuing surveillance and follow-up investigations. The search warrant was served on April 10 for suspected methamphetamine sales. Officers located a lab used to create DMT, or dimethyltryptamine, inside the garage, Livermore PD said. 'DMT is an illegal hallucinogenic drug classified as a Schedule I controlled substance,' according to authorities. One of the home's residents, identified by police as 50-year-old Kerrin Lambert, was arrested for sales of methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of hydrocodone for sale and manufacturing a controlled substance. Two other residents, 26-year-old Dezirae Lambert and 43-year-old Eric Jensen, were arrested for sales of methamphetamine. All three individuals were booked into the Santa Rita Jail. LIVERMORE, Calif. - A gunman seen on video brazenly firing at a motorist along a Livermore road in what authorities said was a case of road rage last month has been captured in Seattle. What we know The Livermore Police Department said the suspect, 26-year-old Demarionte Smith of Oakley, skipped states to avoid capture. Smith was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Seattle on April 1 after he fled there to stay with family members, according to the Livermore Police Department. He is awaiting extradition to California. The backstory His arrest follows a weeks-long investigation into the March 11 shooting near North Vasco Road and Dalton Avenue. Video of the incident shows Smith allegedly opening fire on another motorist. The footage, recorded by a passerby, shows two sedans—one appearing to be a black Toyota Camry and the other a light-colored vehicle—stopped and partially blocking traffic. As other vehicles maneuver around them, the driver of the Toyota exits the vehicle. The driver of the light-colored car also gets out and, within three seconds, opens fire. The Toyota driver was struck and collapsed to the ground, the video shows, according to authorities. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently recovering. K-9 assists in Livermore drug bust: PD
(KRON) – Narcotics and a loaded firearm was found in a convicted felon's vehicle, according to the Livermore Police Department. At around 10 p.m. on Friday, Livermore police officers pulled over a BMW SUV near Vasco and Northfront roads for a traffic violation. Officers said they noticed items inside the SUV that were consistent with drug sales. Officers were assisted by a K-9 named Drake that informed police of the presence of narcotics. Cain Velasquez in court for sentencing in 2022 shooting Approximately 3 ounces of cocaine, prescription pills, fentanyl and a loaded 9mm handgun was subsequently found in the SUV, police said.
