Wholesale stores pledge to keep meat and food prices stable: official
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, confirmed the stability of meat and food prices in the wholesale market. He also noted that the Livestock Trading and Transport Company continues to offer meat at the usual, normal prices.
This statement came following an inspection tour of the wholesale markets in the Shuwaikh area conducted by the emergency team from the "Commercial Control" and "Technical Authority for Supervising Goods and Determining Their Prices" departments. The team was tasked with monitoring the prices of meat, food, and basic commodities in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Ansari emphasized that during the inspection, the team closely observed the prices of meat, essential goods, and food items at the wholesale markets. Additionally, pledges were obtained from company and store officials to ensure that prices would not be raised.
