'General Hospital' Star Rena Sofer Is Not Leaving originally appeared on Parade. There's been a lot of speculation about General Hospital star Rena Sofer's future with the ABC soap opera since Parade reported that the actress would be relocating from California to New York, but now it appears we finally have an answer to the popular star's status on the show. Sofer's character has been ingrained in a lot of front burner storylines this year, with the revelation that her daughter Brooklyn (Amanda Setton) as a teenager had a child with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Lois then helped handle the adoption of the child, which was revealed to be friend of the family Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza). The secret was revealed to all earlier this year at the end of the Nurse's Ball. Sofer originally joined General Hospital in 1993 as Lois Cerullo, where she stayed until 1997, before returning in 2023. The actress got her start in daytime on the NBC soap opera Another World in 1987, before joining Loving the following year in 1988 where she stayed until 1991. Her most recent daytime role was appearing on The Bold and the Beautiful as Quinn Fuller from 2013-2022. In addition to her daytime roles Sofer has a long list of primetime credits including Melrose Place, Heroes, 24, Covert Affairs, and NCIS. She also appeared in numerous feature films including A Stranger Among us, Rock Slyde, Keeping the Faith, and Rock Slyde. For her role of Lois on General Hospital the actress won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu. Rena Sofer Out at General Hospital originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. General Hospital will have one less Cerullo in Port Charles. Actress (Lois) is departing the sudser, stepping away from the role she originated in 1993. Sofer, who rejoined the show in 2023, had fans wondering if she would be flying back to Los Angeles after announcing she and her husband, director and producer Sanford Bookstaver, were leaving the City of Angels and heading east to New York. Sofer posted the news on Instagram in a video and stated: We've been in LA for almost 35 years and now it's time for me and @sbookstaver to go. No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams! Yes I'm getting emotional. I met and had my children in LA met the man of my dreams and created an incredible life there. I had amazing success in the Biz and made all my lifelong friends who I will miss desperately. Most of all my BFF @arinacabral and my Brother @davidsofer53 !!! Thank you LA for being you.
