Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' is doing staggering advance sales business for its opening day. The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial is expected to cross its pre-sales business over Rs 100 crore gross worldwide. This is huge and promises a never-seen-before-like traction for the film in theatres globally.'Coolie' has so far recorded worldwide pre-sales of over Rs 51 crore gross for its opening day. Out of this, around Rs 14 crore gross is from the domestic market alone, reported the trade website Sacnilk. Once the advance booking opens all across the country, the pre-sales business will is poised to have one of the biggest worldwide openings for an Indian film, and possibly the biggest for a Tamil title. Back home, the film's Tamil version is leading the business and has sold around 6.6 lakh tickets in India, grossing Rs 13.80 crore. 'Coolie' has sold around 6.8 lakh tickets in all its film has already begun to rule the box office with such fantastic pre-sales business. Kamal Haasan's ‘Vikram' shines in Japan amid ‘Thug Life' release

Just a few days the highly-anticipated Thug Life hit the screens, Kamal Haasan's 2022 blockbuster Vikram made its theatrical debut in Japan. The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial has been drawing large crowds and positive responses upon its release. Released on May 30, 2025, across 54 screens in Japan, Vikram is setting a new record for the biggest-ever opening for a non-Japanese film in Japan, grossing over ₹50 lakh in three days. Originally released in India on June 3, 2022, the Japan release of Vikram coincides with the film's third anniversary. Distributed in Japan by Twin Co. Ltd., a leading distributor of Indian films in Japan, known for bringing major titles like Baahubali, RRR, Devara, and Jawan to Japanese screens, Vikram continues this tradition of introducing Indian blockbusters to Japanese audiences. The film's international sales was syndicated by Indywood Distribution Network. Keizo Kabata, Representative Director / President, Twin Co. Ltd., is thrilled about the overwhelming response for Vikram in Japan. 'We are receiving excellent feedback from audiences and have not seen any negative response,' he said.
