TG govt to shower sops on employees on June 2

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is likely to announce sops to the government employees and address their long pending demands on June 2, Telangana Formation day. To address the issues faced by the State government employees, the State government will hold a crucial meeting with the high level committee of officials on May 29. The committee includes CCLA Secretary Naveen Mittal, Panchayat Raj Secretary Lokesh Kumar, and TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar. The committee recently held discussions with leaders of employee unions and collected representations regarding their concerns. On Tuesday, at Praja Bhavan, the committee briefed Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Employee Issues, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, on the information related to the problems raised by the employee unions. The Deputy CM instructed the officials' committee to present the details of the issues raised by the employee unions and the proposed solutions in the next meeting.

Bhopal/Raipur: In a tragic incident, three children were struck by lightning in Kurudih village of Korba district of Chhattisgarh . They were near a pond when the lightning hit. Among them, 14-year-old Manish Kashyap and 13-year-old Lokesh Kumar suffered severe burns. Both were rushed to the district hospital for treatment. One of the injured regained consciousness after a while, but the condition of the other two remains critical, police said. Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Meteorological Department has issued a three-day warning for storms and heavy rain across 31 districts, including Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur. The weather in Chhattisgarh has once again taken a dramatic turn. On Tuesday afternoon, Raipur experienced rainfall accompanied by strong winds. Extreme weather conditions continued to impact central Indian states, including Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Since Tuesday morning, Raipur has been covered with clouds.

Police arrested two individuals from different locations in Chandigarh and Panchkula, after recovering illegal weapon and ammunition from their possession. In the first case, Chandigarh Police arrested a Sector 38 resident with one country-made pistol and three live cartridges without any valid licence from Sector 25. He was identified as Lokesh Kumar, said police, adding that accused was a habitual offender. Investigations revealed he was booked in two cases at other police stations in 2013 and 2017, respectively, police added. He was booked under Section 376 (2) of the Indian Penal Code and various sections of the POCSO Act at Sarangpur police station in January 2017, informed police. Another case under Sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act was registered against him at the Sector 34 police station in July 2013. A fresh FIR under Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered at the Sector 11 police station. Police said further investigations were on to know more about the source of the illegal weapon and also trace the kingpin of the illegal arm supplier/seller. The district police arrested a 22-year-old after finding an illegal country-made pistol in his possession. Acting on a tip-off, a crime branch team laid a trap near the Ghaggar river behind IT Park Sector-23 on Monday and intercepted Satyam Kumar, of Bihar, currently residing in Majri Chowk. The firearm was recovered from the accused. Kumar failed to produce any valid licence for the weapon. Initial investigations revealed thathe had procured the pistol from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. A case has been registered against him under the Arms Act at Chandimandir police station. Kumar was produced before a court on Tuesday and sent to two-day police remand.

Hyderabad: The state govt on Tuesday constituted a committee of three senior IAS officers to hold talks with Telangana Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) and submit a report within seven department principal secretary Navin Mittal will head the committee which also includes panchayat raj department secretary Lokesh Kumar and Transco chairman and MD Krishna JAC has threatened to launch agitations from May 15 to press for their demands. JAC chairman Maram Jagadeeshwar and secretary general Eluri Sreenivasa Rao thanked the CM for constituting the committee. The meeting will be held on Wednesday from 4 committee will hold consultations with recognised employee associations and other stakeholders, and identify and categorise pending TGEJAC, comprising 206 unions, had issued an ultimatum to the govt on Sunday to fulfil at least their main and long-pending demands from a charter of 57 demands. Failing this, they would start their agitation from May 15, including a pen-down strike, going on mass casual leaves, rallies and a huge meeting of employees, and direct action after June to JAC's agitation call, CM A Revanth Reddy had on Monday said the govt did not have money to fulfil their demands and appealed to them to cooperate. As a result, the JAC leaders said they were willing to wait for financially intensive demands but wanted immediate implementation of demands that do not cause a financial burden. Consequently, the govt constituted a committee on Tuesday to hold talks with the of the demands of the JAC include clearance of pending bills of Rs 10,000 crore, release of five dearness allowances, implementation of Employees' Health Protection Scheme (EHS), Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) be abolished, Pay Revision Committee report be obtained immediately and implemented with 51% fitment, GO 317 be implemented by creating additional posts based on local status, promotion committees be constituted in all departments in a timely manner; employees transferred during elections be reinstated and general transfers for 2025 be conducted in May/June.
