TG govt to shower sops on employees on June 2
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is likely to announce sops to the government employees and address their long pending demands on June 2, Telangana Formation day.
To address the issues faced by the State government employees, the State government will hold a crucial meeting with the high level committee of officials on May 29. The committee includes CCLA Secretary Naveen Mittal, Panchayat Raj Secretary Lokesh Kumar, and TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar. The committee recently held discussions with leaders of employee unions and collected representations regarding their concerns. On Tuesday, at Praja Bhavan, the committee briefed Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Employee Issues, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, on the information related to the problems raised by the employee unions.
The Deputy CM instructed the officials' committee to present the details of the issues raised by the employee unions and the proposed solutions in the next meeting.

Dalit leaders demand allotment of projects to their community alone
Visakhapatnam: Tenders for the supply of goods required for agriculture, rural development, Panchayat Raj, drinking water supply, power projects, hostels and residential schools, funded by the SC sub-plan in the state budget, should be allocated to Dalits alone, demanded Visthrutha Dalita Sanghala Aikya Vedika state convener Boosi Venkata Rao. Speaking at a media conference held at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan here on Tuesday, Venkata Rao mentioned that the government allocated Rs 20,281 crore for the SC sub-plan in the 25-26 budget. Of this, Rs 1,289 crore for the agriculture department, Rs 1,144 crore for the development of rural Dalits, Rs 1,257 crore for the construction of houses for SCs, Rs 1,118 crore for ration distribution, Rs 1,500 crore for the health of Dalits, Rs 562 crore for drinking water, Rs 372 crore for Anganwadis in Dalit villages, and Rs 1,289 crore for food preparation in hostels and residential schools. The Dalit leaders alleged that although crores of rupees were allotted for the sub-plan, none of the projects were awarded to Dalits. They demanded that this trend should change as all the related projects should be given to the Dalits alone. The government will pay Rs 150 crore to contractors for supplying food items to 1,04,000 students in 750 Social Welfare Hostels and 50 residential schools across the state, Venkata Rao mentioned that not a single supplier belongs to Dalit community. He demanded that these tenders should be allocated only to the Dalit unemployed youth.

CPI expresses concern over acute drinking water scarcity in Kurnool dist
Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan alleging that the two leaders were neglecting the Rayalaseema region particularly the Kurnool district on drinking water scarcity problem. He said people of Adoni, Mantrayalam, Pattikonda, Aluru and Emmiganuru Assembly constituencies of Kurnool disrict were facing many hardships due to lack of drinking water. He said Aspari region of Aluru Assembly constituency is the worst-affected region. ' Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is always talking about the mega projects like Polavaram and he is not thinking about the drinking water problem being faced by the people in rural areas,' he pointed out. He said the Chief Minister was talking about the Godavari-Banakacharla project and felt it is incorrect to talk about the project without solving the drinking water problems of rural people in Rayalaseema region. Speaking to the media at the State party office on Sunday, Ramakrishna said the BBC has broadcast a documentay recently on the water scarcity problem in Rayalaseema region. He said neither CM nor Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan were bothered about the solving the drinking water problem in Rayalaseema region. He said Pawan Kalyan holds the portfolio of Panchayat Raj also. Ramakrishna criticised Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for talking about Sanatana Dharma and going to other States to participate in the programmes but not thinking about the plight of the people in Rayalaseema region.
