Two London Underground lines suspended after points failure
Passengers have been caught in rush hour travel chaos on the Tube after a points failure. If you're travelling on the London Underground this morning, there is a chance you might be delayed after severe delays across the network after the meltdown. The Circle line and Hammersmith & City lines are fully suspended, while some stretches of the District and Hammersmith & City lines have no service. The Circle line has no service on the entire line while engineers fix a points failure, which hit at Edgware Road this morning, the latest TfL travel status update shows. Passengers can use tickets on London Buses instead. Hammersmith & City line is also suspended, and tickets are valid on the buses. The District line has no service between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road due to the points failure, but the rest of the line has good service. The Metropolitan line is partially suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate because of the points meltdown. Meanwhile, on the Overground, the Windrush line is also reporting issues due to a separate power supply failure in the New Cross Gate area. The power cut is also affecting Southern trains to and from London Victoria and London Bridge, and Thameslink services from Bedford. While lines have reopened between New Cross Gate and Norwood Junction, trains could still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes, revised or diverted, National Rail warned. Services are expected to resume by 8am. Got a story? Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ Or you can submit your videos and pictures here. Commuter chaos as Elizabeth line part suspended due to power supply problem
Commuters may encounter severe delays on London Underground lines this morning (28 January) with the Elizabeth line part suspended due to a power supply problem. There is no service on the line between Paddington, Reading and Heathrow Airport with severe delays on the rest of the line due to a power supply problem at Paddington. All Great Western Railway routes to and from London Paddington, as well as the Heathrow Express between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5, have also been disrupted. National Rail said: 'A fault of the electricity supply between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading means some lines are blocked. 'Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes.' According to the rail operator, major disruption is expected until 2pm with engineers working to 'establish the cause of the failure and what areas are affected'. London Underground and London Buses are accepting tickets via reasonable routes, said TfL. Elsewhere, a track fault at Wembley Park has caused severe delays on the Metropolitan line. Commuters can use tickets on the Lioness line, London Buses and Chiltern Railways. Those planning to use the Jubilee line will also find minor delays between North Greenwich and Stratford due to an earlier signalling problem. Tube line status:
