Ian Wright says he 'would love' Arsenal to sign £22m former Everton midfielder
Ian Wright says he would love Arsenal to sign Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman this summer. Lookman has enjoyed another impressive season at Atalanta, scoring 15 goals to help the club finish third in Serie A, while he also found the net five times in the Champions League. The 27-year-old, who Everton sold to RB Leipzig for £22.5 million in 2019, was crowned the 2024 African Footballer of the Year in December off the back of his brilliant campaign with Atalanta in which he helped the Italian club win the Europa League with a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen. Arsenal, meanwhile, are in the market for a versatile forward in the summer transfer window, while reports in Italy have suggested that Atalanta would listen to offers in excess of €40m (£33.6m) for the Nigeria international. Wright believes Lookman would relish the chance to return to the Premier League and feels the winger could make an impact at Arsenal. Arsenal consider Lookman bid as ‘Berta holding numerous talks'
Sky Sport DE reports that Arsenal are among the clubs interested in Atalanta star Ademola Lookman due to his versatility. According to Sky Sport DE reporter Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal have joined other European clubs, including Juventus, in the race to sign Atalanta star Lookman. Advertisement According to the report, Arsenal's talks with agents and clubs are in full swing, and Real Madrid ace Rodrygo remains their primary target to strengthen the attack. However, Lookman is also a topic, mainly due to his versatility. Italian sources already reported earlier this week that Atalanta would be listening to offers above €40m for Lookman this summer. The Nigeria international could make his final appearance for La Dea on Sunday, when the Nerazzurri host strugglers Parma at the Gewiss Stadium. Advertisement Lookman has scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in 39 games across all competitions this season. Lookman, 27, has also been linked with a move to Juventus, but the Bianconeri have many other transfer targets in attack, including Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, Lorenzo Lucca, Mateo Retegui and Rasmus Hojlund.

Atalanta make Lookman decision for Champions League decider
Atalanta star Ademola Lookman has been included in the travelling squad for Monday night's Serie A clash against Roma, which could mathematically confirm La Dea's spot in next season's Champions League, despite concerns surrounding the Nigeria international's fitness. The reigning African Player of the Year was absent from Atalanta training late last week with reports of an inflamed achilles tendon, which put his availability for the Roma crunch match in doubt. Advertisement However, despite the ongoing concerns over his fitness, Lookman has travelled and will be part of the matchday squad against Roma in Serie A on Monday night. (Photo by) Atalanta still have a few additional absentees through injury, but none that come as a surprise. Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini remain out long-term, as do Sead Kolasinac, Isak Hien, Stefan Posch and Juan Cuadrado. A victory over Roma on Monday night will mean that Atalanta are guaranteed to finish the season in third place. They will be unable to overtake second-placed Inter, even if they finish level on points, and will not be caught by any of Roma, Juventus, Lazio or Bologna if they win on Monday night. Advertisement Roma, meanwhile, require a victory over Atalanta if they are to overtake Juventus into fourth place, and crucially, the Champions League qualification spots in the Serie A table. A draw will see Roma move into fifth points, level on points with both Juventus and Lazio. In that scenario, Roma will be level with Juve on points, head-to-head and head-to-head goal difference, but the Old Lady will still lead on overall goal difference. The Giallorossi beat Lazio on head-to-head if they remain level on points.
