Private View by LION Dubai's Osama Siddiq
Campaign Middle East features a Private View section with a range of insights and viewpoints from industry experts, revealing the intricate world of marketing and advertising campaigns. This review of our 'Works' from April is by Osama Siddiq, Co-Founder & Executive Creative Director, LION Dubai. VISA – Cash Walla Visa? The insight is mint. It nails the local lingo without dressing it up in agency-speak. Feels like one of those ideas where you had an amazing insight, and you forced a tech twist and suddenly we're in science fair territory. Fun to look at, not sure it actually does justice to the insight. Bridgestone MEA – Lap of Love Important topic, well-intentioned, but let's be honest, it feels like a safety manual with music. It says the right things but forgets to surprise. A little more creative punch would've taken it from informative to unforgettable. IKEA Al-Futtaim – Supporting First Steps This is IKEA doing what IKEA does best, making real life feel special. They didn't even film anything, just let parents be parents. No polish, no posing, just pure joy. It's the kind of ad you accidentally rewatch three times. Total win. adidas Originals – Loomhood Collection This one walks in with swagger and doesn't fake a single frame. It's raw, it's grounded and it owns its space without trying to please everyone. Easily one of the rare ads that actually feels like it belongs where it was made. Loud applause from this side. Yas Island – Zindagi Ko Yas Bol Big idea, big nostalgia, big budget and still, somehow, big miss. The casting was a shortcut to the audience's hearts, but the delivery felt like a school play. It could have been magic, but instead it's over-acted and under-directed. Bollywood deserves better. So does Yas. By Osama Siddiq, Co-Founder & Executive Creative Director, LION Dubai.

adidas reveals new Dubai-inspired collaboration with local tailors
Say hello to the Loomhood Collection by adidas Dubai… If you've grown up kicking up dust in the winding lanes and hidden corners of Dubai, you'll get this one. Adding to the list of epic regional collaborations to come out of this part of the world, adidas has revealed a brand new collection, inspired by what has become a vital part of expat life in Dubai – the tailor. The desis will know, the tailor is essentially a part of your family. Finding a good tailor is up there with finding a good family doctor, a dentist, a barber when you move to a new city. Here in Dubai, the honeycomb-esque concentration of the South Asian community has given birth to a mind-boggling variety of threads. Enter: the Loomhood Collection, a celebration of an art not of this land, a culture now deeply woven within this society and a romance of originality found in few. Created by adidas in collaboration with local neighbourhood outlet Dream Girl Tailors, these new iterations of the Samba and the Spezials bring together two icons of different makes. Long-time residents of the areas of Al Fahidi and Meena Bazaar will know Dream Girl Tailors – they've become beloved local craftsmen who bring to life the unique visions of their clientele, a spirit that echoes like that of being an adidas Original. The Loomhood Collection has in every stitch, the truth of what it means to be a part of Al Fahidi, to live there, grow up there, come of age there, scout it's small streets and big dreams. Straight from the hands of artisans onto the feet of street icons, this collection is a cut of Dubai's culture and heritage, fused with modern design and fresh appeal. The body remains the same, the laces get a colourful, artisan-made makeover. Fabric laces made out of stunning technicolour prints dress up the otherwise classical design, and you've got a pair of kicks that are truly you . People forge familial bonds with their tailors – my tailor has been stitching for my family for the past 10 years and has seen me transform from a bespectacled, scrawny pre-teen to a married woman, arriving one day with wedding outfits to be made. A tender moment – but that is the beauty of it. The Loomhood Collection is an ode to all that, a salute to the warmth these craftsmen inject into pieces for sometimes strangers, and a subtle nod at the magic of Dubai. Early access 11am April 19th at Dream Girls Tailors shop and at adidas store Dubai Mall from April 21st… @adidasdubai Images: Socials > Sign up for FREE to get exclusive updates that you are interested in

adidas to unveil collection laced with culture at exclusive pop up
The brand is weaving regional art into its most iconic sneakers. Over the past few years, Middle Eastern street style has taken on a life of its own, with festivals, community gatherings, and epic brand collaborations. Now, adidas is once again putting its most fashionable foot forward with the launch of The Loomhood Collection. To kick off the launch, adidas is hosting an exclusive two-day pop-up at Dream Girls Tailor's in Dubai's historical Al Fahidi neighbourhood. Taking place on 19 and 20 April, this pop-up will shine a light on the collection and allow you to explore the space. On 21 April, this pop-up will make its way to Riyadh's Diriyah district. Those heading to the pop-ups can expect to be the first to grab the limited Loomhood Collection before it goes on sale regionwide. Shop sneakers with a twist that will add a cultural flair to your wardrobe. The Loomhood Collection will take adidas' most iconic pieces, the Samba OG and Handball Spezial, and reimagine them with a local twist. Expect design and culture that weaves storytelling and heritage while honouring the hands behind the threads. The laces stand out in this particular adidas collection. Each lace design is handcrafted to represent its respective city. Expect to see Talli lace on the sneakers. Famous in the UAE, these are metallic threads woven with cotton or silk. From Saudi Arabia, the Sadu laces on the shoes will bring a geometric and earthy element to the collection. This inclusion also honours a woman named Rashidah, who has kept the Sadu craft alive for over 30 years. In addition the UAE and Saudi Arabia, The Loomhood Collection by adidas will also be up for grabs in Egypt and features pieces using Khayamiya lace. These are bright and bold patterns mimicking old Cairo — and an art form kept alive by Mohsen Shaaban for over 55 years. While The Loomhood Collection will be on exclusive sale at the pop-ups, it will be available in adidas stores in Dubai Mall and Riyadh Park Mall. Those who are able to snag themselves a pair will get a complimentary Loomhood customisation and a limited-edition lace that ties back to the culture it represents. GO: Visit for more information.
