WCSO: Two arrested after drug bust in Georgetown
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people were arrested after the Williamson County Sheriff's Office Organized Crime Unit executed a narcotics investigation in Georgetown. Detectives found multiple drugs, weapons and cash. In a press release from WCSO, detectives carried out a search warrant in the 2000 block of Kuykendall Drive, which led to the arrest of Tracy Smith and Anthony Robbins. Detectives found the following substances: Approximately 6 ounces of suspected methamphetamine Approximately 20 grams of suspected cocaine Approximately 8 ounces of suspected psilocybin mushrooms Approximately 8 ounces of suspected promethazine Approximately 50 grams (about 90 pills) of suspected Lortab Approximately 30 grams (about 100 pills) of suspected Xanax Approximately 4 pounds of suspected marijuana Approximately 1.5 ounces of suspected THC (wax and vapes) 7 suspected buprenorphine patches Around $10,000 in cash 3 AR-15 Rifles 5 handguns According to the release, Smith and Robbins were taken into custody and face multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled substances. WCSO remains committed to keeping the community safe and will continue to take proactive measures against illegal narcotics activity. The investigation is still active. East Baton Rouge deputies arrest 3 men after drug trafficking investigation
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested three men accused of operating a drug trafficking group. According to the sheriff's office, agents have been conducting surveillance on a group identified as 'Play For Keeps' and have found multiple residences that agents believe to have been used for drug trafficking. Deputies identified Joshua Morris, 39, and Jalen Chavis, 29, as the group leaders. Agents purchased crack cocaine from Morris on numerous occasions. On Tuesday, agents executed search warrants for six homes in Baton Rouge and seized the following: 10.5 grams of crack cocaine. 34 dosage units of pressed fentanyl. 10.2 ounces of marijuana. 10.5 ounces of promethazine. 1 dosage unit of 30mg of amphetamine. 11 dosage units of Lortab. 13 dosage units of Oxycodone. multiple digital scales. 2 hand-operated pill presses (one with fentanyl residue). 9 handguns/pistols. 1 shotgun. $2,020. Joshua Normand, 22, was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and illegal carrying of a firearm with drugs. A warrant for 35-year-old Jarrett Edwards' arrest is pending.
