Major League Cricket returns, but how does it work?
Major League Cricket returns in the early hours of Friday morning in the UK for its third edition. The T20 tournament is the United States' franchise competition and was launched in 2023 as the sport attempts to grow in the country. Six teams take part: Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings and Washington York won the inaugural edition and Washington were champions in 2024. There are 34 games in total - 30 in the group stage, where each side plays the other five twice between 13 June and 7 July. Group-stage matches take place at the Oakland Coliseum in California, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas and Broward County Stadium in Florida.
