University of California Professor of Political Science Louis DeSipio says billionaire Elon Musk's threat to form a new political party is because he 'just wants to be in the limelight'. 'Mr Musk, if he chose to, could influence a couple of key races,' Mr DeSipio told Sky News Australia. 'If Mr Musk really wanted to have some effect, he could target a handful of members of Congress and flip control to the Democrats.'

University of California Professor of Political Science Louis DeSipio claims the Federal Reserve Board in the US has huge concerns about President Donald Trump's new bill and his imposed tariffs on the economy. 'The short-term concern is the tariffs because they will raise the cost of products in the United States ... and they're unpredictable,' Mr DeSipio told Sky News Australia. 'In the longer term, the Fed is of course concerned about the fact that the Big Beautiful Bill will increase the national debt by somewhere between $3-4 trillion. 'The Fed will have trouble borrowing that money when it needs to.'

'In the past when Republicans and certainly Democrats have passed tax cuts, they've provided resources for poorer people … this one doesn't do that,' Mr DeSipio told Sky News Australia. 'The rich are getting richer and the poorer are paying for it and that's not a healthy system where America is already pretty divided.'
