A shock in Coopers Edge: A lightning bolt caused damage to a house when it hit in Coopers Edge at 02:30 BST on Tuesday. The couple whose house was hit said the lightning strike "sounded like a bomb going off".
USA visits: Vice president of the United States JD Vance met members of the military and their families during a visit to RAF Fairford this week. It is home to troops from the US Air Force's 501st Combat Support Wing and the 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron.
Results day: Students across the West had a day of nervous excitement as they collected their A-level results, including at Cheltenham Bournside were feelings of relief, joy and in some cases disappointment as students gathered in school halls across the region to find out if they had achieved the grades they had set out to.
VJ Day: On 15 August 1945, World War Two was officially brought to an end with Japan's gathered at the War Memorial in Cheltenham to pay their respects to those who fought the Japanese military in Asia on the 80th anniversary on Friday.
