The 2025 Book Industry awards took place over the weekend. The event celebrates the publishing houses, independent booksellers and literary professionals across Aotearoa. From cops to bookshops, and cosy crime

New Zealand adds to the genre with Gareth and Louise Ward's The Bookshop Detectives. Gareth and Louise are ex-cops turned book shop owners , uniquely positioning them to write about bookselling and crime-fighting.
