BTS' RM and V have completed their mandatory military duty. As fans celebrate their return, here's a peek into their luxurious life.
After much anticipation, BTS' RM and V have officially completed their mandatory military duty. Viral pictures show RM making a striking entrance in his military uniform while playing the saxophone, whereas V greeted the crowd with a warm smile, holding bouquets. The two were met with enthusiastic cheers at the Sports Park in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. Fans marked the occasion with a joyful gesture, releasing vibrant, colourful balloons into the sky.
RM (Kim Namjoon) and V (Kim Taehyung) were enlisted in December 2023. RM served as part of the military band under the 15th Infantry Division based in Hwacheon, while V joined the elite Special Duty Team (SDT) under the 2nd Corps Military Police Unit in Chuncheon.
Since their debut in 2013, K-pop boy band BTS has evolved into a global pop sensation. The seven-member group: RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, has generated an estimated $350 million through a mix of touring, merchandise, endorsements, and streaming. A major contributor to this success was their 2019 Love Yourself World Tour, which reportedly earned around $170 million. Forbes estimates that from mid-2019 to mid-2020 alone, BTS made approximately $50 million, translating to nearly $7 million per member.
Beyond the music industry, BTS also plays a significant role in South Korea's economy, contributing roughly $5 billion annually to the country's GDP. This figure accounts for not just their direct earnings but also tourism, consumer goods, and cultural exports linked to the band.

On television, RM cohosted the intellectual variety show The Dictionary of Useless Human Knowledge on tvN alongside director Jang Hang-jun, which aired from December 2022 to January 2023.
Financially, RM holds a net worth estimated between $20 million and $22 million (around Rs 183 crore), ranking him fifth among his bandmates, according to the Financial Express.
