Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center to host informational event on pollinator friendly plants
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Siouxlanders with a green thumb who are looking for ways to spend their weekend may want to check out a Saturday event at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.
Starting at 10 a.m., the event will feature a presentation titled 'Pollinator Friendly Plants and Habitat.' Presenter Jamie Beyer, a Lifetime Master Gardener, beekeeper and water garden consultant from Boone, Iowa will share some fun, simple and more challenging ways to make yards and gardens a better home for Siouxland pollinators. That class of creatures includes things like butterflies, hummingbirds, native bees and honeybees.
'Luau on the Lanes' to raise money for Siouxland nonprofit
The program is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Loess Hills Wild Ones and the Nature Center.
