5 people to stand trial accused of holding a man hostage
Lucy Newton, 25, Patrick Walton, 31, Daniel Toms, 34, Charlie Johnson, 28, and John Taylor, 29, are alleged to acted with others in the alleged crime on December 8 2023.
It is claimed they were partially masked when they abducted the man and demanded he get in a car in Rosyth, Fife.
He is said have had a firearm pointed at him, threatened and driven to a property in Glasgow's East End.
Prosecutors the man was held against his will before he was physically attacked.
This includes claims he was punched, kicked and jumped upon. It is also stated the man had a knife held against his neck and the gun put at his head.
The alleged assailants are said to have stolen from him a watch, cash, jewellery and a car.
The charge states the man was left severely injured.
The five deny the charge of abduction, assault and robbery charge.

They had been due to stand trial at the High Court in Glasgow this week.
But, judge Lord Arthurson was told of a legal issue which meant the case could not go ahead.
The trial was adjourned and is now set to take place in July 2026.
