PM Modi, Bolivian President discuss cooperation in critical minerals, trade & investment, health and pharma
Rio de Janeiro/New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a fruitful bilateral meeting with the President of Bolivia, Luis Alberto Arce Catacora on the sidelines of the Rio BRICS Summit, during which they discussed collaborating in sectors like digital technology, critical minerals, healthcare and space among others.
The PM said in a post on X that Bolivia is valued partner in Latin America.
'Had a fruitful meeting with the President of Bolivia, Mr. Luis Alberto Arce Catacora. Bolivia is a valued partner in Latin America and in the recent years, our bilateral ties have become much stronger.
'We talked about the need for improving and diversifying trade linkages on a priority basis. We discussed how we can collaborate in sectors such as digital technology, critical minerals, healthcare, space and more. Also conveyed my best wishes on the historic occasion of Bolivia's 200 years of Independence.'
Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Catacora, in a post on X, said that he had a 'fraternal meeting with the brother Prime Minister of the Republic of India'
He said despite the geographical distances, Bolivia and India 'share notable political coincidences, including the promotion of a multipolar world, their diverse and ancestral cultures, South-South cooperation, and the strengthening of the BRICS'.
'We made progress in various areas of cooperation, such as technology, quick-impact projects, cultural cooperation, local currency payment methods, and space matters.'
The MEA spokesperson said in a post that PM Modi thanked Bolivia for the solidarity extended to India in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.

'Both leaders recognized the potential for enhanced collaboration in the critical minerals sector and developing sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships in the field. They expressed satisfaction over the ongoing development cooperation between the two countries, including through Quick Impact Projects and capacity-building initiatives under the ITEC scholarship programmes.
'Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the people of Bolivia in the wake of the severe flooding that occurred in March-April 2025 in Laz Paz and several other parts of the country. He also congratulated Bolivia for joining the International Solar Alliance.
'Prime Minister conveyed his warm greetings to the people and Government of Bolivia on the occasion of the country's bicentennial celebration, marking 200 years of independence on 6th August 2025.'
