Former Love Island star shows off incredible transformation of old chapel into new home
A former Love Island star has shown off the incredible transformation of a chapel he bought, which he worked hard at making into an incredible home.
Luke Mabbott, who participated in the 2020 winter season of Love Island, bought the 150-year old chapel in Cornwall with his family — and then spending over 18 months breathing new life into the home.
Taking to social media, Luke showed off the chapel back when it was, well, a chapel, before sharing what it looks like now — a truly incredible living space incorporating a ground floor living area and kitchen, with stairs leading up to the added-on first floor. View this post on Instagram

While some would think that a historical building undergoing a renovation would mean that some of the chapel's original features could be lost, Luke and his family managed to keep the stunning wooden beams and the chapel's original shape on the roof.
Taking to his Instagram, Luke wrote that the chapel went 'from tired to timeless' and they added that the home is now going to go on the market.
'After 18 months of hard work, long nights, and muddy boots, my family and I have brought this 150-year-old chapel in Cornwall back to life,' Luke wrote. 'It's been an honour getting stuck in and restoring a true piece of history.' Luke transformed the home into something truly special, including a marvellous eight metre high open plan living area. 'We've respected the past while breathing in the future, every detail, every fitting, every finish has been done with care and craftsmanship. This place deserved nothing less. Now, it's ready to stand strong for another 150 years.'
Luke's friends were impressed by the truly stunning transformation, with fellow Love Island alum Dami Hope commenting 'Insaneeeee brooo.'
'Forever proud of you, this is MAD MOVES,' another commented, while another added 'amazing work! Well done guys. I'm honoured to have worked just a tiny bit on your property. Your hard work thoroughly paid off!' Luke was in the sixth season of Love Island in 2020. Pic: ITV
Luke joined the 2020 winter season of Love Island as a bombshell on day 12, coupling up with Jess initially before coupling up with Natalia, and then coupling up with Demi — where they finished third.
The then heating engineer owns Brotherhood Properties, and has renovated homes previously including his own in Cornwall.
