The Welshman competed in eight consecutive editions of the Tour de France, from 2015 to 2022, and was a Team Sky road captain during their dominance of the world's greatest bike race, playing a part in five general classification victories: three for Chris Froome, one for Geraint Thomas and one for Egan Bernal. He also won stages at the Tour of Britain and and Herald Sun Tour and placed highly in one-day Classics such as Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne and the Tour of Flanders.
