Disney World adds an adults-only after-dark experience

It's barely an exaggeration to say that the food in Disney theme parks is a big part of the experience, almost as much as the rides. And anyone who has visited one of the parks more than once most definitely has a favorite "only in Disney" food. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Maybe you can't visit without grabbing one of those turkey legs that's as big as your 10-year-old child's arm. Or maybe it's the pineapple Dole Whip soft-serve that you dream about. How about a churro? In Walt Disney's (DIS) Disney World, there are 200 places to eat, including 90 with table service. (There are only 139 in Disneyland, but still plenty to choose from.) You can even find upscale dining options like steakhouses in the parks, not quite Michelin Star material, perhaps, but almost. Earlier this year, Disney World announced it was bringing back a dining option that is really popular with families: kids eat free. If you stay at one of the 25 Disney Resort hotels in Orlando and you purchase a dining plan for people in your group who are older than 10, you will also get a free dining plan for kids ages 3 to 9. Guests normally can't combine special offers, but this year Disney is allowing it. "The kids' free dining plan offering can be combined with other select special offers, meaning you may still be eligible to take advantage of other deals we later roll out for 2026," according to the Disney Parks Blog. The Disney Company is always looking for ways to get people to come back to The Happiest Place on Earth. They revamp old rides, introduce new ones, add new live shows, and have spectacular seasonal events. Earlier this year the company announced GEO-82, a new 21+, reservations-required dining lounge in Epcot. Disney hasn't yet specified what the "light bites" for the Fireworks Experience will include, but the GEO-82 menu includes foods with global influences - like Truffled Ahi Tuna and Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau. The cocktail menu highlights a Brown Butter Old Fashioned - made with brown butter-infused bourbon - and a Clarified New York Sour, plus a selection of mocktails, wines, and beers. Zero-proof cocktails will also feature on the menu items, according to the resort. However, one cannot access the GEO-82 lounge without a reservation. The reservation acceptance is slated for May 6. If the menu items were not enough to wow Walt Disney World enthusiasts, the resort is also offering a special, add-on "fireworks experience". This is going to be a part of the Enchanting Extras Collection, starting June 4, as per reports. The fireworks experience will be paid and will cost $179 per person, with theme park admission being a requirement. On this unique fireworks experience, The official Walt Disney World's GEO-82 section says, "Your party will be seated at a private table beside the window in GEO-82. You'll be perfectly positioned to enjoy dazzling views of Luminous The Symphony of Us, the nighttime spectacular." Along with the sorted menu items, a selection of sweets during "Luminous The Symphony of Us", is also going to be available, says the site.
