Pedro Pascal steps out with sisters for 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' LA premiere

It was a family affair for Pedro Pascal at the world premiere for " The Fantastic Four: First Steps." The actor, who stars as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic) in the highly anticipated Marvel film, was all smiles as he posed for photos with his sisters Lux Pascal and Javiera Balmaceda on the blue carpet at the premiere in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday night. Pedro Pascal looked dapper in a white coat with a polka dot tie, while his sister Lux Pascal wore a black gown with cutouts by Gianfranco Ferré. Balmaceda opted for a dark gray suit with a black button down shirt. Missing from the trio of siblings was their brother, Nicolás Balmaceda Pascal. While speaking with "Good Morning America" on the carpet, Lux Pascal said that she and her siblings make up the Fantastic Four. "We're four," she said. "My siblings and I, we're four. So it's kind of incredible that my bro is, like, the lead. So yeah, me and my siblings are the Fantastic Four, I will say that." The upcoming film follows the Marvel superhero team the Fantastic Four as they are "forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond," according to its official synopsis. "They must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer," the synopsis continues. "And if Galactus' plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren't bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal." The film is based on the original comic of the same name created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. "As far as the movies are concerned, I think it's definitely a world that is completely dedicated to the original comics that were published in early 1960s," Pedro Pascal said Monday night. "A kind of innocence and optimism rooted in family togetherness to tell the story that we can't do it alone." He continued, "I think that Reed has such an intense brain, let's say, that would kind of devour him if it weren't for the family that anchors him to the world. And he learns a lot more about love than he does about the universe through his relationships with his family and his partner and his wife, Sue Storm. And becoming a father, of course." "Those kinds of challenges are a lot scarier than god-sized galactic vampires," he added. Making up the Fantastic Four with Pedro Pascal are Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch. The film also stars Natasha Lyonne, Ralph Ineson, Paul Walter Hauser, Sarah Niles and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" arrives in theaters July 24, 2025.

Pedro Pascal shares a sweet moment with his sister Lux on The Fantastic Four: First Steps red carpet during LA premiere

Pedro Pascal shared a sweet moment with his sister Lux on The Fantastic Four: First Steps red carpet during the film's LA premiere on Monday night. The actor, 50, plays the flexible Fantastic Four leader Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in the movie which comes out July 25. And while posing on the red carpet Pedro took a second to readjust the bottom of his sister's black dress so that she looked picture perfect. The actress, 33, looked great in the halterneck number which featured flattering cut-out detailing. Meanwhile Pedro donned a white blazer over a matching tank top with a b&w cravat around his neck, a red carnation in his lapel, black wide-leg trousers, and Oxfords selected by his brand new stylist Jamie Mizrahi. Pedro and Lux share a strong bond, with the Mandalorian star previously calling her one of the 'most powerful people and personalities' he knows. Speaking to Esquire last year, he gushed: 'She is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I've ever known. My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.' He added that he had always felt 'parental' to Lux and his younger brother Nicolás following the death of their mother, Veronica Pascal, who tragically took her own life in February 1999, when Pedro was 24 and Lux just seven. He explained: 'They were very young kids, so much younger than me and my older sister, so even if they hadn't lost a parent, we would still feel parental toward them. 'And I didn't naively think I could fill a space like that, but I just always wanted to be like, I'm here.' Like her brother, Lux is also an actor, having graduated from the prestigious Julliard School in 2023, and having roles in The Prince, Invisible Heroes, and Chilean drama series Los 80. She publicly came out as transgender in 2021, appearing on the cover of Chilean magazine, Ya, where she bravely detailed her transition. Lux credited Pedro as being an 'important part' of her journey as she recalled: 'When I officially told him about my transition through FaceTime, he asked me how I felt… because I remember that he was worried. Lux credited Pedro as being an 'important part' of her journey as she recalled: 'When I officially told him about my transition through FaceTime, he asked me how I felt… because I remember that he was worried' 'I told him, 'I'm happy.' And his answer was: 'Perfect, this is incredible'.' Pascal has previously shown his support for the transgender community, earlier this year sharing on Instagram the quote: 'A world without trans people has never existed and never will.' He added in his caption: 'I can't think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorising the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.' Matt Shakman's $200M-budget reboot of The Fantastic Four, set in a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic alternate universe known as Earth-828, hits UK theaters this Thursday and US theaters this Friday.

Pedro Pascal Called Out J.K. Rowling's ‘Heinous Loser Behavior' Over Anti-Trans Law Because ‘Bullies Make Me F—ing Sick': ‘I Want to Protect the People I Love'

Pedro Pascal said in a new Vanity Fair cover story that 'bullies make me fucking sick' when the topic of J.K. Rowling was brought up. The 'Harry Potter' author has regularly courted controversy since 2020 for sharing anti-trans views on social media. Pascal's younger sister, Lux, came out as transgender in 2021. The actor made headlines in late April for slamming Rowling's 'heinous loser behavior' after she celebrated the U.K. Supreme Court's anti-trans ruling that transgender women are not legally considered women and transgender men are not legally considered men. Pascal's other sister, Javiera, defended her brother's comment, telling Vanity Fair: 'But it is heinous loser behavior. And he said that as the older brother to someone saying that our little sister doesn't exist.' More from Variety J.K. Rowling Raves About HBO's 'Harry Potter' Series After Working 'Closely' With the Writers: 'I've Read the First Two Episodes. They Are So, So Good' From 'Andor' and 'The Studio' to Selena Gomez and Pedro Pascal, 14 Possible Emmy Records and Milestones in Sight Emmys Acting Contenders: From Pedro Pascal and Diego Luna to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Who Was Officially Submitted As the comment went viral across social media, Pascal said he briefly felt like 'that kid that got sent to the principal's office a lot for behavioral issues in public schools feeling scared and thinking, 'What'd I do?'' But he knew he could not stay silent as Rowling celebrated the anti-trans ruling, which she did by posting a victory photo of herself drinking with the caption: 'I love it when a plan comes together.' 'The one thing that I would say I agonized over a little bit was just, 'Am I helping? Am I fucking helping?'' Pascal told the magazine. 'It's a situation that deserves the utmost elegance so that something can actually happen, and people will actually be protected. Listen, I want to protect the people I love. But it goes beyond that. Bullies make me fucking sick.' In the aftermath of Pascal's comment, some of Rowling's defenders started sharing a viral clip of the actor taking his 'Fantastic Four' co-star Venessa Kirby's hand at Comic-Con in order to somehow prove Pascal is presumptuous with women. But Kirby isn't having that. 'What happened is we were both incredibly nervous going out in front of thousands of people who love this comic,' Kirby told Vanity Fair. 'He wanted me to know that we were in this together, and I found it a lovely gesture and was very glad to squeeze his hand back.' Pascal was far from the only prominent celebrity to condemn the U.K. Supreme Court's decision. Actors such as his 'The Last of Us' co-star Bella Ramsey and 'Bridgerton' favorite Nicola Coughlan all signed an open letter opposing the anti-trans ruling. 'We the undersigned film and television professionals stand in solidarity with the trans, non-binary and intersex communities who have been impacted by the Supreme Court ruling on April 17,' the letter read. 'The Supreme Court's ruling that, under the Equality Act, 'woman' is defined by biological sex, states that 'the concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man'. We believe the ruling undermines the lived reality and threatens the safety of trans, non-binary and intersex people living in the UK.' Another signee of the letter was 'I May Destroy You' Emmy nominee Paapa Essiedu, who just so happens to be taking on the role of Severus Snape in HBO's 'Harry Potter' television series. Rowling is closely involved in the development of the show but wrote on X that she has no problem with cast members who think differently than her. 'I don't have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn't exercise it if I did,' Rowling wrote on X while sharing an article about Essiedu signing the letter. 'I don't believe in taking away people's jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.' Pedro Pascal's sister Lux steals the spotlight in daring silk gown as she supports her brother at Eddington premiere in Cannes

Pedro Pascal 's younger sister Lux ensured all eyes were on her as she joined her famous brother at the Eddington premiere during the Cannes Film Festival on Friday night. The actor, 50, stars in the black comedy Western as Ted Garcia, the town's mayor who is running for reelection. Making sure to show her support for her big brother Lux, 32, put on a dazzling display in a show-stopping gown as she stepped onto the red carpet. The transgender activist wowed in the striking white number that clung to her svelte figure and featured a dramatically long train. The floor length dress boasted pleats and panelling as well as a thigh-high split which exposed a little bit of leg. Silver and gold details ran down one side, whilst the dainty straps crossed down behind her, highlighting her toned back. Lux left her brunette locks to flow freely over her shoulders and completed her dazzling look with diamond earrings and a flawless face of makeup to accentuate her stunning features. 'I told him, 'I'm happy.' And his answer was: "Perfect, this is incredible".' Cannes Film Festival, where filmmakers, sales agents and journalists gather from around the world, is the Olympics of the big screen, with its own golden prize, the Palme d´Or, to give out at the end. Filmmakers come from nearly every corner of the globe to showcase their films while dealmakers work through the night to sell finished films or packaged productions to various territories. Over recent years the star-studded extravaganza has arguably won more attention for the outfits worn by its celebrity guests than the roster of feature films being screened on the Croisette. But new nudity rules, devised for 'the sake of decency,' have been implemented at this year's festival. According to organisers, the austere move is an attempt to stifle the celebrity trend for 'naked dresses' - namely provocative outfits that reveal considerably more than they conceal - on the red carpet. 'For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as any other area of the festival,' states a Cannes festival document. 'The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.' The surprise new policy features in a recent festival-goers charter - released with a series of outlines regarding expected public behaviour. Guests are expected to converge on the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière for some of the highest profile film screenings across a packed two-week schedule in Cannes. It's understood that the iconic venue now adopts a more conservative dress code, with suits, dinner jackets and floor-length evening gowns generally favoured over headline grabbing ensembles. Classic little black dresses, cocktail dresses, pant-suits, dressy tops and elegant sandals, 'with or without a heel', will also be permitted. While the decision to implement a more stringent policy will be a first, it is not known if French TV broadcasters, wary of airing nudity, played a role in its enforcement. Major red carpet events, including the Cannes Film Festival, are aired in France by France Télévisions Recently attracting more models and influencers than actors and filmmakers, the annual ceremony has seen an increase in risque red carpet fashion statements. In 2021, American supermodel Bella Hadid bared her cleavage in a plunging black gown while attending a screening of Tre Piani (Three Floors). She pulled a similar stunt three years later, with guests at the 2024 gala left speechless after she attended the premiere of Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice completely braless beneath a sheer brown evening dress.
