Rare Aston Martin DB4 Discovered After 30 Years Hidden in a Barn
Read the full story on Modern Car Collector Hidden away in a dusty barn for three decades, a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 has re-emerged into the world—and it's already turning heads. Left untouched for 30 years in Astoria, New York, the car was recently listed for sale with a jaw-dropping valuation of over $324,000. This DB4 is no ordinary find. Originally finished in a striking blue paint over red leather, it was equipped with a 3.7-liter engine capable of hitting 140 mph—impressive numbers even by today's standards. More remarkably, the car retains its matching engine numbers, a rarity that significantly boosts its value. But the story behind the car is what truly sets it apart. After returning from Vietnam in the 1970s, the previous owner resumed work at a local body shop. One day, his boss asked him to assist with a repair—and after weeks of dedicated help, he was gifted the Aston Martin DB4 as a thank-you. He had the car towed to his property, parked it inside a barn, and planned to restore it. Unfortunately, life got in the way. Despite good intentions, the DB4 was never touched. Time passed, dust collected, and the once-glamorous sports car became an aging relic of forgotten dreams. Now, more than 30 years later, the car has finally been pulled into the light. Luxury Auto News reports that Peter Kumar's Gullwing Motor Cars is handling the sale. The company confirmed the car is an 'exciting and original discovery' and represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors. The DB4 was once the world's first production car to go from 0 to 100 mph and back to 0 in under 30 seconds. Now, it stands as both a symbol of engineering excellence and a tribute to a bygone era—and it's looking for a new owner who can finally complete the restoration it always deserved. Rare vintage Bentley found tucked away in old barn for 30 years is set to sell at auction for staggering sum
A RARE vintage Bently left untouched for 30 years is about to sell for a staggering amount of money. The luxury motor from the 1950s was hidden in a barn and will finally see the light of day again hen it goes up for auction. 7 7 The chic car is a Charlie Watton A rare vintage Bentley which has belonged to its owner's family for six decades. The 1950 Bentley Mark VI relic was capable of 100mph in its prime, thanks to its powerful 4257cc OISE straight-six engine. Although it needs a major restoration to make it viable, much of the original interior is still intact. It still has its original leatherwork and veneer, and has a chic, dark grey paint-job. However, moths have ravaged the original wool inside the car First developed in 1946, the car was the first Bentley to be equipped with factory-designed coachwork. Pristine versions of the designer car often sell for anything from £15,000 to £150,000. As a true vintage relic, its sellers are hoping to get as much as possible in the auction. According to Luxury Auto News, the car was acquired by the seller's late father in the 1960s. It was used for its former owner's wedding and was passed down to his daughter in 2023, when he sadly passed away. Watch moment car thief boy, 9, sneaks into uninsured £135k PORSCHE to go on daring joyride - but it doesn't end well The Mark VI was the first car to be assembled in Rolls-Royce's Crew factory, instead of Bentley's site in Derby. Now, the car is heading back to Derbyshire, where it will go on sale as part of the H&H Classics Pavilion Gardens auction in Buxton. Bidding will be closed on July 30. Ahead of the event, a spokesperson for the auction site opened up about the luxury car. The spokesperson said: 'Now offered without reserve and presenting a dilemma for any would-be purchaser as to whether to preserve its years of patination or restore it back to its former glory. 'The Bentley is offered with a current UK V5C, owners handbook and a handful of old MoT test certificates and tax discs.' The news comes after a pensioner's car collection went on sale for £1 million. Frank Loft began adding cars to his Moretonhampstead Motor Museum in Devon in 2008 and eventually managed to acquire 120 vehicles. 7 He has a mix of high-end and more affordable cars in his collection, with the high end motors including: 1930s Rolls-Royce worth £26,000, a 1959 Jaguar XK150 worth £50,000 and a 1970 Ford Cortina Lotus Mk II, worth £30,000. After years of collecting motors, Frank decided to switch gear and take advantage of his retirement. He said: "It's a hobby gone out of control. Museums aren't a business you go into thinking you're going to make a fortune. "I have enjoyed more or less every moment, it's been a great experience. It's been a pleasure to welcome tens of thousands of visitors over the years. "My body's telling me it's time I had a break. "I haven't decided what I'll do now but I'll probably find another project, I've always been a bit of a workaholic.' 7 7 7

Supercharged Mustang from the 90s that belonged to boxing legend could be yours for just £9K
A RARE Mustang is now up for grabs – and it could be yours for just £9,300. The flashy 1995 Saleen S351 Supercharged Convertible, currently located in Seattle, Washington, was originally delivered brand new to boxing icon George Foreman, the late heavyweight champion who died in March this year. 6 6 6 Foreman, famous for his devastating power in the ring and later his best-selling grills, was gifted the car by Saleen after fronting their promotional campaign. Despite keeping it in his personal collection for decades, he reportedly drove it only on rare occasions. Now, nearly 30 years on, the bright yellow muscle car is hitting the market – and it's packed with serious punch. Under the bonnet lies a supercharged 5.8-litre V8 R-code engine producing a massive 510 horsepower, with a top speed of 172mph. Inside, it boasts black Recaro leather seats and a surprisingly low mileage of just 728 miles, according to Luxury Auto News. More than £42,000 has been spent on upgrades, and the car comes with documents including a copy of the title in Foreman's name. Bidding ends on 28 July and is being handled by SBX Cars, who said: 'This car, unit 30 of the 42 Saleen-produced convertibles for the year, was completed in early March 1995 and was featured in Saleen's press materials. 'It was later handed off to the legendary George Foreman as its first owner. 'Foreman, best known for being a two-time boxing heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist, reportedly kept the car for decades, yet only drove it sparingly. 'A copy of the title in his name will accompany the car. 'It is fitting that Saleen's slogan is: Power in the hands of a few. 'This is a car that simply has no equal.' Only 42 of the Saleen S351 convertibles were made in 1995, making this model particularly rare. The car featured in Saleen's original promotional material and has had more than £42,000 spent on upgrades over the years. A copy of the title bearing Foreman's name is included in the sale, adding historical interest for fans and collectors alike. 6 6 6

$4.1m Rimac Nevera R breaks 24 world records in one go
A Rimac hypercar has smashed 24 world records, including going from 0 to 400km/h and then coming to a complete stop in just 25 seconds. The hair-raising Nevera R has been crowned the new 0-400-0 champion, breaking a slew of records in the process. In just 25.79 seconds, the electric supercar accelerated from standstill to 400km/h and back to a halt, beating the previous record by a full 2.04 seconds. Equipped with a breathtaking quad-motor all-electric powertrain, the Rimac has been labelled 'the fastest accelerating production car the world has ever seen.' Among the new benchmarks set by the electrifying ride is a jaw-dropping 0 to 60mph time of just 1.66 seconds. During its record-breaking run, the £1.8 million ($A3.4m) Nevera R hit a blistering top speed of 431.453km/h. Producing an astonishing 2,107 brake horsepower, the Nevera R soared to the top of the performance charts, according to Luxury Auto News. The dramatic improvement is thanks to a re-engineering of several major components. A fixed rear wing and enlarged diffuser generate greater downforce while enhancing aerodynamic efficiency. Meanwhile, Michelin Cup 2 tires reduce understeer and boost lateral grip. These upgrades work in concert with a next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system, designed to maximise traction and handling precision. 'When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached. In a single generation, we had created a performance jump that previously would have taken decades,' Mate Rimac, founder and president of the Rimac Group said. 'But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car,' he added. 'Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won't stop here.' The Nevera R smashed its own 2023 records, securing its spot at the very top of the EV leaderboard. The original Nevera already held several elite titles, including the production EV top speed record of 412 km/h, a Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb record of 49.32 seconds, and the electric production car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife at 7:05.298. Now, there's even more opportunity for the Nevera R to go after what few records remain. Limited to just 40 units worldwide with a starting price of €2.3 million ($A4.1m), each Nevera R now carries the distinction of being part of the most comprehensively record-breaking hypercar ever created. The Rimac Nevera R doesn't just edge out the original Nevera — it leaps ahead, according to CarBuzz. The performance gap is clear across nearly every metric. The R version cut 1.61 seconds off the 0–200mph time, coming in at 9.25 seconds. It also hit 0–400 km/h (249mph) in 17.35 seconds, nearly four seconds quicker than the standard model. In the 0–250–0mph test, the Nevera R was over five seconds faster, highlighting massive gains in both acceleration and braking. It also improved the standing mile time to 19.71 seconds, shaving off almost a full second. The quarter-mile came in at 7.90 seconds, beating even the drag-ready Dodge Demon 170, and without special tires. Top speed rose from 412km/h to 431km/h, and it accelerated from 200–300km/h in just 3.89 seconds. Each upgrade shows Rimac's engineering wasn't just refined, it was reimagined.
