Savannah Classical Academy High School senior wins Empowering Greatness Scholarship
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A senior at Savannah Classical Academy High School has been awarded the Empowering Greatness Scholarship from Farah & Farah.
Senior Luz Clarita Gonzalez-Matancillas is the 2025 recipient of the Farah & Farah scholarship. Luz received the scholarship because she demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her community, particularly through her efforts to assist Hispanic families with translation services.
Luz is a bilingual individual who felt the need to help in addressing the language barriers faced by many in her area. She plans to become a surgeon and use her native language to educate and assist others in the medical field.
She has been accepted to Oglethorpe University, Agnes Scott College, Georgia State University, and Temple University.
