Prince Albert police investigate fourth homicide of 2025
Prince Albert police are investigating the city's fourth homicide of 2025 after a body was found on Thursday morning.
Around 8:50 a.m., police were called to 500 block of 39th Street West for a report of a suspicious person and potentially a dead person, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said in a news release.
Arriving officers found a dead man who police identified as 36-year-old Lyle Ballantyne. His next of kin has been notified.
A 56-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Aug. 5.
