Police: One dead following crash on M-52, south of Webberville

WHITE OAK TWP. — A 53-year-old Mason man was killed when his car crashed into a semi truck on M-52, south of Webberville, on Monday, Aug. 18. The crash happened about 7:40 a.m. at the East Howell Road intersection, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office said. The Mason man was driving east on East Howell when he collided with the southbound semi, sheriff's officials said. The eastbound driver failed to stop for a stop sign, officials said. He became pinned beneath the semi and was dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 23-year-old Perry man, was not injured. M-52 was closed in the area of the crash. The Northeast Ingham Emergency Services Authority and the MSP Motor Carrier division helped at the scene. The crash is being investigated by the Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team. Police release name of man killed in Aug. 18 crash in Ingham County

WHITE OAK TWP. — A Mason man who was killed in a crash on M-52 south of Webberville on Aug. 18 has been identified as Jeffrey Wendt, 53. The crash happened about 7:40 a.m. at the East Howell Road intersection, according to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, which released Wendt's name on Aug. 19. Wendt was driving east on East Howell when he collided with a southbound semi truck driven by a 23-year-old Perry man, sheriff's officials said. The eastbound driver failed to stop for a stop sign, officials said. He became pinned beneath the semi and was dead at the scene.
