Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and police found at least seven shell casings at the scene. The victim was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. The suspect fled the scene in a white car and had been missing ever since, Dutch media reported on Sunday. He is now in pre-trial detention at a detention complex in Casablanca. Dutch authorities have been notified and are expected to prepare an extradition request. The suspect could face trial in the Netherlands later this year or early next year, where he risks a multi-year prison sentence.
