Spider-Man: Brand New Day featurette reveals Tom Holland's first day on set
Sony Pictures has released the first official 'Day One' featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, offering fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Tom Holland's return as Marvel's iconic web-slinger. Filmed on location in Glasgow, Scotland, the footage captures Holland's first day on set for his fourth solo MCU Spider-Man film. The featurette shows Holland in action, including scenes of Spider-Man attempting to break into an armored vehicle bearing a mysterious demon-like logo. Director Destin Daniel Cretton can be seen guiding the action, with speculation mounting that the logo may hint at connections to The Punisher, Mephisto, The Hand, or Mister Negative's Inner Demons. Day one back in the suit. The story continues with #SpiderManBrandNewDay - in theatres 7.31.26 — Spider-Man Movie (@SpiderManMovie) August 10, 2025 In the video, Holland reflects on his new approach to the role, noting, 'Putting the suit on, it feels different this time… Hopefully get it right. No pressure.' Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has hinted that this will be Holland's first time portraying the 'classic' version of Spider-Man on screen. While the film shares its title with the controversial Brand New Day comic book era—where Spider-Man's marriage to Mary Jane was erased via a deal with Mephisto—the storyline here is expected to focus on Spidey teaming up with The Punisher to battle a Savage Hulk, with The Scorpion also rumored to appear. The cast includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026.

1 photo from new 'Spider-Man' filming looks utterly incredible
Filming for the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie is underway in Glasgow, Scotland, and behind-the-scenes footage has started to emerge. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release just under one year from now on July 31, 2026. It's the next Marvel movie to release, following two critical successes -- although not as big box office splashes -- in Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Tom Holland returns for his seventh installment as the web slinger, having appeared in three solo movies along with Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. So far though Brand New Day filming, we've gotten glimpses of the new Spidey suit, Holland doing stunts on the back of a tank and explosions. Thanks to fans hanging out near the set and taking photos and videos of the excitement, we now have one of the most incredible pictures of Spider-Man. The photo depicts someone in the Spider-Man suit (likely Holland, but could be a stunt man), standing on a vehicle between shots. The large crowd in both the foreground and background are slightly blurred, adding to the drama of the shot. With Spider-Man's head bowed and his back to the camera, it gives the impression or illusion that he's actually just finished battling with some super villain. Absolutely incredible shot. Sadie Sink cast as Mayday Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to build hype with major casting rumors. According to Jeff Sneider via The Hot Mic, Sadie Sink is set to play Mayday Parker, a character tied to the multiverse and reportedly the daughter of Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker and MJ Watson. The film will reportedly bridge Tom Holland's MCU Spider-Man with legacy elements from previous universes. Mayday Parker's inclusion is a multiversal twist connecting to Maguire's Spider-Man timeline — raising fan theories about cross-generational web-slingers uniting. Meanwhile, Sarah Snook (Succession, The Beanie Bubble) is rumored to portray a secondary villain. Her character remains under wraps, but a recent Cosmic Circus report teased a 'dark, mysterious female' with Japanese shinobi/samurai-inspired armor, hinting at a potentially original or deep-cut Marvel character. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will follow the events of Avengers: Doomsday, with Peter Parker attempting to lead a normal life before a new threat forces his return to heroism. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct, with a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Filming begins August 2025 in the UK, and the film is slated to release July 31, 2026. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles. Marvel Studios is also casting two additional villain roles.
