Iraq denies allegations that Minister Hussein conveyed a message from the US to Iran
Iraq denied, on Friday, allegations that Minister Fuad Hussein conveyed a message from US President Donald Trump to Iran. Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MOFA 'reviewed a report recently published on a website and circulated by some media outlets, under the misleading title: 'Trump gives Iran two weeks to withdraw its militias from Iraq,' according to a statement by MOFA - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. The report claimed that Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, conveyed a message from US President Donald Trump to the Iranian leadership related to the topics referred to in the report's title. 'What was stated in this report is not based on any official source and is an example of unprofessional media practices aimed at spreading false and misleading information. It's negatively influencing public opinion via a systematic attempt to distort Iraq's image," highlighted the Ministry. MOFA underscored that "official statements and declarations issued by the Iraqi government and the Ministry are the only reliable source for any information related to Iraq's foreign policy, based on the principles of transparency and respect for international law."
