"If the codes are scanned, the message will automatically be triggered to the authorities concerned," said M P Vijayakumar, vice-chairman of TANSCHE.
For example, toilets will have two QR codes with messages "Am I clean?" or "Am I stinky?" If they scan the QR code for stinky, the message will be sent to authorities. "This is the way to get feedback to improve the service delivery. The council has developed the software.
Higher education minister Govi Chezhiaan will launch it soon," he added.
The council also plans to launch a
student satisfaction survey
on academic experience, teaching quality, curriculum, campus environment, career and skill development, and overall satisfaction in all higher educational institutions. "Students are the best judges to tell us whether the classes are interesting or not, the quality of faculty members, lab exposure," Vijayakumar said.
The survey aims to ensure a student-friendly academic environment. It will be used as one of the indicators for the State Institutional Ranking Framework (SIRF) planned by the Tamil Nadu govt. The questionnaire will be sent directly to students and TANSCHE is collecting mail ids of students.
