Priscilla Wong is not ready to return to work yet

23 May - Making her first public appearance since the birth of her son, nicknamed Siu Ha Ha, Priscilla Wong dismissed the notion that she is officially returning to work. The actress, who attended a mobile launch with her good buddy Tony Hung on 21 May, joked that she was bribed by the TV personality to attend the event with a mobile phone and a pile of cash. "This is the longest time I have ever spent away from Siu Ha Ha," she said. "When I was leaving, he suddenly cried. I was video chatting with my husband [Edwin Siu] on the way, but when I arrived at the venue, my phone was out of battery. I feel so worried." However, Priscilla assured that her husband has already coaxed the baby to stop crying and go to sleep. When asked how she spent her first Mother's Day, the actress said that it was chaotic and she was at a postpartum care centre. "Since the baby was born, I only get five or six hours of sleep a day. Edwin recently went to mainland China for work, and during that time, Siu Ha Ha had a fever. I couldn't sleep the whole night. I kept checking his temperature and changing his fever patches. Every day brings a new challenge," she explained. Speaking about the baby, the actress revealed that the doctors found a tumour in her uterus during the c-section. She added that it was immediately treated and she is fine now. "But the doctor said that I can only exercise after three months of giving birth. The advantage of having a belly is that it can support the baby while breastfeeding," she joked. Priscilla said that her son is now two months old and weighs more than 5 kilograms. It is not known whether they will be holding a 100-day banquet. (Photo Source: Priscilla IG, MP Weekly)

Two discarded HKFA trophies found at waste management centre

27 Jan - Director Alex Cheung recently expressed his surprise over a viral photo of two discarded Hong Kong Film Awards' trophies that were found at a waste management facility. Sharing the photo of the two trophies, Alex posted, "The Hong Kong Film Awards is the highest honour for each of us filmmakers. I also participated in the voting for the HKFA, but I saw the post from a Facebook friend saying that two discarded trophies were picked up at the transfer station." Upon inspection, some netizens commented that the trophy on the left of the photo was the award for Best Costume for "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons", which was won by the late art director Bruce Yu. Many took to the comments to share their thoughts, with one suggesting that Bruce's family might have thrown it away so not to feel sad seeing it following his passing. Meanwhile, others said that the way it was discarded seemed to suggest otherwise. However, most of them believe that everything happened for a reason and that the two trophies should be sent to an archive or a museum to be preserved. Bruce, who was also a costume designer, passed away in 2022. He was a 23-time nominee and 4-time winner of the Hong Kong Film Award and had worked on films like "The Mermaid", "Mulan: Warrior Princess", "Yesterday Once More" and "The Four" among others.
