Hill ready to shake things up to get Daisies going

Daisy Hill travel to Merseyside tomorrow for their first ever meeting with MSB Woolton in the North West Counties League First Division North (3pm). This weekend's hosts joined the league in the summer, having successfully grown the club over many years to having around 238 teams under its banner at all levels, making them one of the biggest clubs in Europe. They will play home games this season at the Jericho Sports Complex, in Aigburth, which they share with fellow North West Counties League club South Liverpool, although plans are under way for their home base at Simpson's Football Ground to be developed to host first-team games in the near future. The league new boys have had a tough start to their campaign, losing both of their games so far and conceding seven goals in the process. However, with Daisy having taken just the one point from their opening three games, manager Lee Hill is hoping some changes in the squad will deliver the elusive first win of the season for his side. 'You have to accept the recent results and move on, because nothing obviously can change that, so we have to take it and put it aside,' said Hill. 'But also, we do have to look at what we could have done to change the result, such as missing chances that could have given us goals to put us ahead and maybe out of sight. 'The chances are being created, all the things that we're looking at are happening, but obviously you're not judged on chances. 'You don't win games on chances, you win games by scoring goals. 'So we do have to have a look at the fine details on that, work and improve on those and hopefully we can stop coming out on the wrong side of these fine margins. 'I think we needed to have a look at a couple of changes but we've got a couple of injuries as well, so naturally that would have happened anyway.' Although MSB Woolton have made a poor start to their first season in the league, Hill believes it's too early to be drawing conclusions on those two results. 'If you look at the results in the division so far, it's been a crazy sort of opening start to the season,' he added. 'Some teams you would expect to have won all three games haven't. 'So all we can do really is prepare the best we can and concentrate on ourselves. 'Pitches are hard and dry at the minute, and with the game being on a 4G pitch that does make a difference, to a degree. We are used to training and playing on one and obviously they'll be used to it as well, so it doesn't necessarily level it up and give us an advantage. 'We'll prepare for the game well, and hopefully we can get the win we need to keep their bad run going and to change our fortunes.'
