MT 400 Tennis Masters Tournament begins in Dubai with participation of 230 players

The MT 400 Tennis Masters Tournament for men and women kicked off at the TopSpin Sports Centre Complex in Dubai. Organized by the UAE Tennis Federation and supervised by the International Tennis Federation, the tournament has attracted 230 players from around the world and will run for two weeks. This year's edition of the tournament has seen a significant increase in participation, with 230 players, up from 180 in the previous edition, marking a rise of around 50 new participants. The competition is open to players aged 30 and above, with an upper age limit of 75 for both genders. Nasser Yousef Al Marzouqi, Secretary General of the UAE Tennis Federation, described hosting the tournament for the second consecutive year as an important addition to the events organized by the federation, including five annual international youth tournaments and other international competitions. Marzouqi emphasized that hosting the tournament in Dubai reflects the UAE Tennis Federation's efforts to strengthen collaboration with the International Tennis Federation to promote the culture of tennis. He pointed out that the success of the previous edition, both organizationally and competitively, led the International Tennis Federation to upgrade the tournament's classification from MT 200 to MT 400, enhancing its technical and competitive prestige. He also praised the efforts of the TopSpin Sports Centre management for their collaborative work, which contributed to the tournament's organizational success. For his part, Prasad Uchil manager of the TopSpin Sports Centre, extended his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE Tennis Federation for their sponsorship and cooperation. He emphasized that this collaboration has facilitated active participation from players coming from more than 35 nationalities. This year's edition serves as a true testament to the global status of tennis in the UAE, further underscoring the world-class sports infrastructure in Dubai, which supports the organization of major tournaments and solidifies Dubai's position as an international hub for sports excellence.
