JioHotstar claims majority of India's top OTT titles in March: Nielsen
JioHotstar led India's OTT race in March 2025, capturing two-thirds of the top 30 most-watched titles across films, original series, and non-original programming, according to Nielsen's Mobile Audience Measurement report. ADVERTISEMENT Netflix followed with six titles in the top ranks, while platforms like MX Player, ZEE5, and SonyLIV made smaller inroads. Amazon Prime Video didn't make it to the leaderboard. Together, JioHotstar and Netflix dominated mobile OTT viewership among Android users aged 18 to 45 in urban India, showcasing strong engagement across diverse content categories. The report highlights viewer preferences across six major OTT platforms: Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, MX Player, Netflix, SonyLIV, and ZEE5 spanning films, original series, and non-original the film category was Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire on JioHotstar, followed by Dragon, a Tamil-language comedy-drama on Netflix. Walking down memory lane, the actress recently recalled being advised against working in the thriller-romance for its 'adult content.' In a recent interview with Times Now, Bipasha Basu was asked about the biggest career opportunity that worked in her favor. In response to this, she was quick to admit, "Hands down, Jism." She further explained that she was advised against the film while she was at the top of her career. However, she stood by her choice as she really liked the story. She said, 'Jism was the time when I was at the peak, and everyone told me you cannot do adult content film. You are like the typical Hindi heroine who is established in people's hearts now. And I said, I just like the story so much. I said I'll go ahead and do it." The Bachna Ae Haseeno actress recalled that even her manager thought that she had "gone crazy." However, Bipasha noted that it worked for her, and things changed in her favor. She pointed out how women were suddenly tonging their hair and wearing a bronze look. According to her, there was no stereotypical thing since then that women couldn't play the negative character. The actress accepts that everything changed after that for her. "So it's been path-breaking for me. That has been one very important film," she said on a concluding note. Directed by Amit Saxena, Jism was the thriller-romantic film led by John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. The film that gave a career boost to both the stars also featured Sheeba Chaddha, Vinay Pathak, Gulshan Grover, Ranvir Shorey and more. On the professional front, Bipasha has been away from the lights, camera, and action for quite some time now. Sonia Rathee, who made her acting debut in 2018 with the web series Broken But Beautiful, rose to immense stardom with her first movie, Tara vs Bilal, in 2022 as a lead actress opposite Harshvardhan Rane. The actress, who is gearing up for her next film titled Kapkapiii, alongside Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, opened up about her experiences of working with them during the shoot of the film. In a candid conversation with ETimes, Sonia Rathee reflected on how Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor's presence on the sets of Kapkapiii turned out to be an unexpected masterclass of acting. Praising the Golmaal actor's discipline and iconic comedic timing in his previous films, the actress said, 'Tusshar surprised me the most, he was so quiet and in his zone on set. But the way he could switch in and out of character, especially when he had to be intense or scary, was honestly fascinating. There's a certain discipline and ease he brings to the craft that really stayed with me." She also talked about Talpade's knack for improvisation and how he always used to indulge in lovely conversations with the other cast and crew members. Revealing the Om Shanti Om star's understanding of the craft, Rathee stated, 'His improvisation skills are incredible. What I appreciated most was how collaborative he is. Following this, the diva appeared in the Netflix series Decoupled in the year 2021, in the role of Masha, co-starring Madhavan and Surveen Chawla. She then portrayed the lead character of Tara in the 2022 released movie, Tara vs Bilal, a romantic comedy produced by John Abraham. Beside acting, the actress showcased her dancing skills with her stint in Badshah's music video 'Chamkeela Chehra', which was released in July 2022. Currently, Sonia is all set to appear in the horror-comedy film, Kapkapiii, directed by Sangeeth Sivan and produced by Jayesh Patel and Vipin Agnihotri. The official announcement of the show was made earlier this year in the announcement slate by the streaming giant.
