170 girl students of MITS selected for AICTE scholarship

170 girl students of the Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) in Annamayya district have been selected for the AICTE (All India Institute of Technical Education) Pragati Scholarship for the academic year 2025-26. The AICTE initiative supports meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds. MITS principal C. Yuvaraj told the media here on Monday that each student was awarded ₹50,000, bringing the total scholarship amount to ₹85 lakh. 'The scholarship not only eases the financial burden on the students and their parents, but also motivates young women to go places in the fields of engineering and technology. This initiative holds the key to achieving gender parity in technical education,' he said. A ceremony was held on the campus to felicitate the awardees, attended by MITS correspondent N. Vijaya Bhaskar Choudary, executive director Keerthi Nadella, senior faculty and students. Dr. Choudary expressed pride in the achievement of the students and reiterated the institution's commitment to fostering inclusive education to provide world-class teaching to the students.
