Madden Furniture, based on Station Road in Ennis, Co Clare, has announced it will officially close on Friday, July 11, after 49 years in business. Known across the region for its quality bed frames, elegant tables, clever storage units, and cosy lounging furniture, the shop became a staple of the Ennis community – not just for its products, but for its warm customer service. Despite its strong local reputation, the Madden family confirmed the sad news in a heartfelt statement on Facebook. 'Dear Valued Customers, after 49 incredible years suppling furniture to our community, the time has come for us to say goodbye. 'We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support throughout the years. It has truly been a privilege to be a part of your homes and lives.' To mark the end of an era, the store will host a final farewell sale, inviting the community to grab last-minute deals and say goodbye in person. The closing-down sale will run from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, between 11am and 7pm daily. The announcement prompted an outpouring of emotion from long-time patrons, who flooded the comments section with tributes. One wrote: 'Wishing you all good health and happiness on the next chapter. So sorry to hear another great shop is closing.' Another said: 'So sorry to hear this. We were lucky to have such a quality furniture store on our doorstep.
