Chemist Warehouse manager reveals the $30 'dupe' of $300 luxury item that's set to fly off shelves
A Chemist Warehouse manager has discovered what she believes is a $29.99 'dupe' of a popular $300 luxury item.
Jess, a retail manager from Melbourne, has claimed the new Made In Lab. 18 Eau de Parfum smells almost identical to Giorgio Armani's Si fragrance.
'I just found the closest dupe to Giorgio Armani Si I have ever smelt,' she said.
'Like when I mean 'the closest', I mean Giorgio Armani has six notes... Made In Lab has six notes.
'To say I was shocked at how good this fragrance smelt is an understatement.'
The employee was amazed that the two fragrances, despite their vastly different price points, contained the same scent elements.
'I can't believe these fragrances have exactly the same notes,' she said.
'This fragrance (Giorgio Armani Si) is one of the top sellers, and for a reason. It's a beautiful, vanilla, woody scent.
'Made In Lab 18 is a brand new scent to - only available at Chemist Warehouse might I add... If you're not already convinced, it's only $30.
'Now I know what you're saying... a $30 fragrance? I bet it doesn't last. Well, let me tell you... The longevity is so good. It lasted on my skin for hours.'
The store manager predicted the new fragrance is set to sell out.
'Run to Chemist Warehouse… We all know these will fly off the shelf,' she said.
Earlier this year, Jess claimed the $30 Michael Bublé Crazy Love Eau De Parfum 'smell just like YSL Black Opium', which costs $282 for a 90mL bottle.
'This smells divine. And if you ask me, Michael Bublé scents are so underrated,' Jess said in her Instagram video.
'Michael Bublé fragrances are flying off the shelves at the moment and he has just released a new fragrance - Crazy Love.
'The Fragrance has playful top notes of candied fruit and zesty Italian, mandarin oil, followed by a luxurious blend of coffee extract and almond.'
The store manager said the ingredients work well together as it 'brings warmth' and is grounded with 'comforting notes' of vanilla extract, patchouli and cashmere wood.
'This new one smells very similar to YSL Black Opium. It's designed for the woman who lives life with passion and flair,' Jess said.
The Michael Bublé fragrances have been selling out at Chemist Warehouse, with shoppers saying By Invitation Rose Gold is their all-time favourite scent.
