Chemist Warehouse manager reveals the $30 'dupe' of $300 luxury item that's set to fly off shelves

Daily Mail21-05-2025

A Chemist Warehouse manager has discovered what she believes is a $29.99 'dupe' of a popular $300 luxury item.
Jess, a retail manager from Melbourne, has claimed the new Made In Lab. 18 Eau de Parfum smells almost identical to Giorgio Armani's Si fragrance.
'I just found the closest dupe to Giorgio Armani Si I have ever smelt,' she said.
'Like when I mean 'the closest', I mean Giorgio Armani has six notes... Made In Lab has six notes.
'To say I was shocked at how good this fragrance smelt is an understatement.'
The employee was amazed that the two fragrances, despite their vastly different price points, contained the same scent elements.
'I can't believe these fragrances have exactly the same notes,' she said.
'This fragrance (Giorgio Armani Si) is one of the top sellers, and for a reason. It's a beautiful, vanilla, woody scent.
'Made In Lab 18 is a brand new scent to - only available at Chemist Warehouse might I add... If you're not already convinced, it's only $30.
'Now I know what you're saying... a $30 fragrance? I bet it doesn't last. Well, let me tell you... The longevity is so good. It lasted on my skin for hours.'
The store manager predicted the new fragrance is set to sell out.
'Run to Chemist Warehouse… We all know these will fly off the shelf,' she said.
Earlier this year, Jess claimed the $30 Michael Bublé Crazy Love Eau De Parfum 'smell just like YSL Black Opium', which costs $282 for a 90mL bottle.
'This smells divine. And if you ask me, Michael Bublé scents are so underrated,' Jess said in her Instagram video.
'Michael Bublé fragrances are flying off the shelves at the moment and he has just released a new fragrance - Crazy Love.
'The Fragrance has playful top notes of candied fruit and zesty Italian, mandarin oil, followed by a luxurious blend of coffee extract and almond.'
The store manager said the ingredients work well together as it 'brings warmth' and is grounded with 'comforting notes' of vanilla extract, patchouli and cashmere wood.
'This new one smells very similar to YSL Black Opium. It's designed for the woman who lives life with passion and flair,' Jess said.
The Michael Bublé fragrances have been selling out at Chemist Warehouse, with shoppers saying By Invitation Rose Gold is their all-time favourite scent.

Guy Sebastian hobbles out of court on crutches during trial with former manager Titus Day after being rushed to hospital for shock injury

Guy Sebastian hobbled out of Sydney 's Downing Centre District Court on a set of crutches on Tuesday, just weeks after suffering a serious leg injur y. In May, Sebastian landed in hospital after tearing his Achilles tendon during a footy match with AFL great Brendan Fevola. The 43-year-old hitmaker, who is expected to take the stand this week during the embezzlement trial of his former manager Titus Day, sat in court wearing one shoe and a bandage on his injured foot. Dressed smartly in a sharp blue blazer and black trousers, Sebastian left the Downing Centre on his own. The singer's polished look - complete with a leather satchel slung across his shoulder - contrasted sharply with the visible strain of each step on the crutches. In May, Sebastian painfully tore his Achilles tendon during an ill-fated footy match. Sebastian and Fevola teamed up to help struggling club Masala Dandenong break a long losing streak in front of a buzzing crowd at Lois Twohig Reserve. What began as a quirky radio promotion turned into a gritty on-field performance, as Fevola and Sebastian led Masala to a tense 55–53 win over South Melbourne Districts. However, Sebastian's afternoon was cut short by injury with the pop star seen limping from the park in the fourth quarter. Sebastian is set to take the stand this week in the trial of his former manager Titus Day who is defending a raft of embezzlement allegations. Day is currently standing trial in the NSW District Court to defend against claims he embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties and performance fees from Sebastian. He has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of embezzlement as a clerk or servant and one count of attempting to dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception. The trial commenced on Thursday and Sebastian is expected to take to the stand in 'the coming days', The Australian reported on Friday. The 43-year-old hitmaker, who is expected to take the stand this week during the embezzlement trial of his former manager Titus Day, sat in court wearing one shoe and a bandage on his injured foot Sebastian was first managed by Day when he worked as a senior client management executive for the 22 Management Agency, the jury was told on Thursday. In 2009, Day established his own agency 6Degrees, where Sebastian became the 'marquee client'. It was alleged the pair's relationship began to sour after Sebastian discovered what he alleged to be irregularities in financial records. It was also claimed that Day, who worked on a 20 per cent commission of Sebastian's income after costs, failed to pay royalties and performance fees collected on the Australian Idol winner's behalf. The publication reported that one of the charges related to a claim that Day failed to pay Sebastian $187,000 - a performance fee for his support act slot on Taylor Swift's 2013 Australian tour. During the first day of Day's trial on Thursday, Crown prosecutor Brett Hatfield SC informed the court that Sebastian had placed a 'significant trust' in his manager, who then 'abused' that trust by embezzling his money. Aside from Sebastian, Day has also managed a raft of high-profile clients including Grant Denyer, Sophie Monk, Tina Arena, and Stephanie Rice.

Why this image of the 'MasterChef judges' thrilled Aussies

The latest episode of MasterChef Australia has thrilled fans of the long-running cooking show. The Back To Win series has seen previous contestants from seasons one to 16 recalled to the kitchen for a second chance at culinary glory. Channel 10 shook up the format of the tentpole reality TV program in an obvious bid to reel back old fans of the franchise back in for a dose of nostalgia. On Monday night, longtime viewers were left surprised at the surprise choice of celebrity guest judges. In previous years, MasterChef Australia has seen the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Nigella Lawson, Katy Perry, King (then Prince) Charles, and even the Dalai Lama lend their star power to the judging panel. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri and their friend Andrew Manfre have built a social media following of 4.3million for their hilarious skits about growing up in an Italian-Australian family and appeared on MasterChef as their famous 'Nonna' characters But in a refreshing move, the all-star line up of MasterChef contestants in 2025 were served up Melbourne comedy trio Sooshi Mango instead. Brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri and their friend Andrew Manfre have built a social media following of 4.3million for their hilarious skits about growing up in an Italian-Australian family. The comedy troupe has gone from strength-to-strength, launching a successful podcast, selling out live comedy tours around Australia, and using their 'gimmick' to charm Melbourne with a traditional Italian restaurant of their own, which they opened in 2023. Sooshi Mango appeared on MasterChef on Monday night as their 'Nonna' alter egos, to the surprise and delight of viewers at home. Fans said the Nonnas made 'the best episode so far' and were 'hilarious'. Sooshi Mango introduced 'Viral Week', where contestants were each delivered a 'Mystery Box' and challenged to put their own spin on a traditional Italian dish. The nonnas did not hold back. 'Bring the world together. Sometimes the worlds collide and it blow up. I love my Greek brothers and sisters. And I love Ravioli. But together? No way!' one contestant was told. The nonnas did not hold back in their hearty praise - and criticism - of the contestants' Italian-inspired dishes 'It's called Tiramisu. I think this one's called Tira-mi-stupid,' came another harsh dessert assessment. 'I'm very proud of you because you're Skippy and you make a cannoli like that.' "Skippy" is a slang term of endearment often used by immigrants to describe Australians of Anglo-descent. There was plenty of praise for the skit, with many viewers saying they thoroughly enjoyed the lighthearted judging. 'We as an Italian family sat down to watch this episode. We laughed so much as it reminds us of our mother/nonna. Thank you Masterchef for having them on,' one fan said. 'Loved this so much, laughed all the way through,' another added, calling it their 'favourite episode of all time.'
