Youth City 2030 celebrates International Youth Day
Youth City 2030 celebrated International Youth Day, held under the theme 'Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond', in the presence of His Excellency Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, H.E. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and several officials. H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, expressed pride in the contributions of Bahraini youth, which reflect their awareness, ambition, and creativity. She noted that the celebration embodies appreciation for their determination and innovation, and confidence in their role in building the Kingdom's future. Commitment The event underscored Bahrain's commitment to empowering youth and fostering their leadership across sectors to advance sustainable development. Activities showcased talents and innovations, including the launch of the first Young Farmers' Market in Bahrain, organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), to support local agricultural production and promote food security. Other initiatives featured the 'From Farm to Table' tasting experience, sustainability projects such as 'My Clean Plate' and 'Zero Waste & Plastic Cure.' The event also featured presentations of Injaz Bahrain projects and announced the winning companies of the 2025 Young Entrepreneurs Competition.

Tamkeen and Takamol sign MOU to boost professional skills and national workforce competitiveness
The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Takamol Holdings, a leading company in business services for the labor market and human capital development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The MOU aims to explore cooperation between the two organizations in multiple labor market related fields, as well as facilitate knowledge exchange in initiative design to enhance the efficiency of the labor market, support in professional skills development and improving performance and efficiency. Through this MOU, Tamkeen seeks to benefit from the expertise of Takamol in multiple aspects, enhancing program effectiveness, and boosting the competitiveness of national talent in line with the needs of the labor market. Additionally, Tamkeen will also gain understanding of the labor market development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Takamol will benefit from Tamkeen's experience in creating opportunities for national talent to enter the labor market and grow in it. The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund Tamkeen, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abduljabar Al-Yamani, Chief Executive Officer of Takamol, in the presence of officials from both companies as a step that highlights their commitment to enhance and strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange. Tamkeen, SCH launch support bundle targeting 750 Bahraini healthcare professionals
Following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), 'Tamkeen' announced the launch of a new healthcare support bundle targeting 750 Bahraini healthcare professionals. The support bundle comprises seven key initiatives. The first two focus on supporting Bahraini doctors in obtaining board certification in various medical specialties. The third initiative supports Bahraini doctors in joining medical fellowship programs to help them specialize in in-demand fields, preparing them to become medical consultants. Additionally, two initiatives are dedicated to supporting Bahraini nurses. One aims to develop national talent in the nursing field by sponsoring high school graduates to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing degree. The other focuses on helping Bahraini nurses obtain specialized qualifications in fields such as midwifery, critical care, cardiovascular care, nephrology, and emergency care. To broaden the scope of beneficiaries of this bundle, two new initiatives have been introduced for the first time—one to support dentists and another to support allied health professionals. Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund 'Tamkeen', stated: 'This second healthcare initiative builds on the positive impact of the first bundle launched last year, reflecting the vital role this sector plays in supporting the national economy. The healthcare sector is one of the most promising in the Kingdom, employing over 22,000 professionals across various roles and specialties.' In addition, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al-Nawakhatha, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, said: 'This year's initiatives, which include support for dentists and allied health professionals, will significantly enhance employment opportunities and career development prospects for Bahrainis in these disciplines.' Applications for fellowship, residency (board certification), dentistry, and allied health programs can be submitted through the Supreme Council of Health's website at www. Opportunities related to the Bachelor of Nursing programme will be included in the scholarship plan to be announced by the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, the opening of applications for nursing specialties at the University of Bahrain will be announced at a later stage.
