Kajol pats herself on the back for how she has raised daughter Nysa, praises her for battling trolls with ‘dignity'

Handling the spotlight, the paparazzi, and social media trolling has always been a part of celebrity life. Stars try their best to keep their kids always from the negativity that often surrounds them, but it is a difficult endeavour. Kajol has always talked about being protective towards her family, especially her 22-year-old daughter, Nysa, who has grown up before the world. And as she has entered adulthood, she has also attracted hateful comments about her lifestyle and looks. In a recent interview, Kajol opened up about how her daughter handles the spotlight and trolling with remarkable strength and composure. In an interview with Zoom, Kajol praised Nysa and said, 'When I look at her, I feel, my God, she is the woman we all want to be. It is this amazing quality which today's girls have, that they expect to be treated well. They expect to be treated with the same dignity. They expect good manners. If you are not there, they call you out.' A post shared by Kajol Devgan (@kajol) Kajol was then asked about Nysa's ability to manage the constant media attention and trolling, to which she added, 'I am very proud of her. I have said that to her as well. I am proud of the fact that she carries herself with so much dignity and grace. I think it is always a test of your character when you are faced with uncomfortable situations, and how you react to them. It shows your true mettle. I am proud of my upbringing and my daughter.' Kajol also reflected on her return to the sets after her maternity break, and said, 'I remember when I came back, I did Fanaa after Nysa was born,' she said. 'It had been three and a half years since I stood in front of the camera. I kept thinking — 'Do I still have it?' 'Will I be okay in front of the camera?' 'Will I be different?' ' Kajol added that fortunately, those fears quickly faded by end of the first day and she found herself at ease once again. 'The day got over and I realised, 'No, it's fine.' I've been doing this day in and day out…with my children, with everybody. And it is okay. It is a part of you that you will never get tired of or feel like you're new to,' she shared. Kajol is currently busy promoting her latest film, Maa. The mythological horror film, directed by Vishal Furia, will hit theatres on June 27. Kajol is also a part of the upcoming action-thriller Maharagni—Queen of Queens, directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati. The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Prabhu Deva, Jisshu Sengupta, Aditya Seal, and Pramod Pathak. Kajol also has Karan Johar's upcoming home production, Sarzameen, with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. She will also be seen in the second season of her legal drama series, The Trial.
