Kolkata B-school rape case: Did the accused confess to spiking the drink? Here's what police revealed

1 2 NEW DELHI: The student accused of raping a woman on the campus of a top management school in Kolkata has admitted to purchasing sleeping pills and mixing them into cold drinks and water offered to the woman before the alleged assault, according to a senior police officer, quoted by PTI. 'The accused had admitted to having bought sleeping pills and spiked the cold drinks and drinking water which he had offered the woman when she was there,' the officer told PTI. 'But he could not clarify what the real intention was behind doing all these to a woman who went to him for counselling. He is not answering this question.' The accused later called a friend and described the incident while walking in the verandah outside the room, according to investigators.
